The reason I posted this question was because on a recent road trip I had a nasty head wind. I noticed my hood bouncing up and down with wind gusts, seems there is play in the latch. My thought was maybe the hood scoop is creating more drag and this resulting in hindering my gas mileage.

For the record, I’m not naive to think adding AT tires ( E rated) and lifting my truck won’t have negative effects on gas mileage, it has! . I posted because as we all do as Tacoma owners we are always looking for something to change on our trucks and a long road trip got me thinking.

    thanks for all the feedback.

There will be a little vibration in your hood. You may try adjusting the rubber hood “bumpers”. You can screw them up and down to adjust the tightness of the hood.

Are you asking for something to block off the skewp on the inside? If so, it's already blocked off. There's a piece behind the "mesh" that keeps it from catching bugs. I know this because I removed that piece when I had a skewp and put a light bar in it.
