Oh, its straight factory, no mods whatsoever. When the ambient temps is just right with the sun rising from the west on a cool october morning, I can get a 2nd gear scratch. Unable to post pics of my factory 4.0 due to broken hood latch.:anonymous:

Hey folks, just a heads up, this is what I did. You can buy a CAPA certified aftermarket hood for ~$400 delivered, $150 for OEM scoop parts and $300-$400 for paint from an ok shop (like the bumper guys or Craigslist guys who paint in their garages) and be into it less than $1k, which is about the price of decent wheels (which are also cosmetic). Maybe recoup a few hundred from your OEM hood.

I did it, no regrets. Fitment of aftermarket hood was great, everything lined up. Paint wasn't OEM quality but matched well and look good enough. The scoop changes the whole look of the truck (and I love how it looks from the driver seat). Now I too am an elitist who looks down at flathooders and chuckle to myself.

Just throwing it out there for other people looking for a scoop, I found one within 50 miles of me on car-part.com

Wrong color, but it's mint. Just another alternative to buying aftermarket

Not gonna lie, if I had the money and another truck, I'd deck it out with their fiberglass stuff. I almost wish I saw this before I pulled my scooped hood from the junkyard

I got my scooped hood from LKQ Corporation. Color matched and had it touched up and installed at a local body shop.

I can see that style on a muscle car but not so much on a tacoma. Personally, that look will get old fairly quick.

$400 for a capa certified hood?!!! Just the hood??!! ...umm im seeing them for around $150 on rockauto.com and carparts.com for capa certified...where are you seeing $400??

...wow shipping is close to $200, so thats about $400 total...damn. I wonder if there is a way to avoid shipping by doing a little driving. Maybe find a parts supplier nearby?
