Hey, I recently installed the idatalink maestro in my 2009 toyota tacoma. I have a Kenwood DMX706s and the OBD 2 port connected. I got the tire pressure readings once, but when I went to get the tire pressures to match each door, the system wiped. Anyone have any experience on how to get my tire pressures back up, I still have the gauges just not the tire readings? Thanks for your help!

Don't take this the wrong way. I want to help, but your comments don't make a lot of sense.

What do you mean by "when I went to get the tire pressures to match each door" ? I don't know the 2g, but in my 2.5g, the RR automatically gets that info and displays it on my HU.

What do you mean by "the system wiped" ? What system? The headunit only displays what the RR gives it. If there's no info from the RR, then I would suggest taking it out and reflashing it.

What appears on the home page that shows a pic of a vehicle with the tire pressure and temp displayed at each wheel? If it's dashes you may need to drive the truck a couple blocks before a value will appear. If it saw the pressure once and displays gauges then the system connected properly to the OBD. There's really not much if any configuration for TPMS, it's an OBD value the system pulls from the ecu. If you are seeing the gauges then it's pulling data and Tire Press is just another value in a memory location it's pulling up, just like the one for coolant temp. The stereo nor the maestro system read the sensors directly, it's pulling OBD data that has that information.

Hey thank you guys for your help, when I first installed the RR in my Tacoma the tire pressures read along with the tire temperatures. I saw a button that read tire position relearn and clicked that button; once clicked the system no longer displayed any tire info and even after exiting that function it no longer displayed the tire info. I have reflashed the RR. Also do your systems show you when a door is open? I’m trying to figure if I have a defective unit, or am I the problem. I also made sure the OBD connector is attached and it is secured.

Mine mine doesn't indicate anything about the doors. Depending on the year of your truck different stuff will be available for display on the system. newer=more to select from.

Any ideas on how to get this fixed besides flashing the system?

Hey Ridefreak, have you ever reset your tire positions on the headunit? Like for instance you got your tires rotated, have you ever had to reposition your tires on the headunit.

Yes, pretty much every time I rotate them. You really have to dump allot of air (almost flat) before it senses that's the tire being deflated.

Oh, thanks. I was doing that last night. I just thought that there’s no way this is working because my tire was almost flat. Thanks for the info. Do you have an actual step by step process on how to reprogram the tires to the headunit? Thanks a bunch

Sorry I don't have a procedure, it's a selection in the menu on the TPMS page in the maestro settings you access from the headunit. It sounds like you were there. I always drive it around the block first to wake up all the TPMS sensors and I check that they're all displaying before diving into the process, then I kill the motor but leave the ignition on so the OBD is still functional as I start deflating.

My problem is the tires would never actually display the actual tire pressure to begin with. Do you think the tires not being assigned to a particular area( as I talked about earlier) is the problem and this would fix it?
