does a 2nd gen jack kit work for a 1st gen taco? My used truck didn't come with a kit and I need to buy one. Also any good sites for a good kit?

A jack is a jack, my friend. They aren't gen specific.

But I mean the kit itself, will a second gen be able to that the tire off and complete the entire process? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can get the tire down off the carrier by hand.
