you have it corrrect- i can hear all audio (radio, mp3, bluetooth streaming) just fine EXCEPT the phone call audio... but the person i call can hear me perfectly... so my 'guess' is that either the unit or the canbus box is trying to route the phone audio through the tweeters ONLY and my jbl amp (2009) does not have audio output for just tweeters... :(
i have tried to choose different canbus adapter settings but there is little or no guidance on this and setting to null does not allow me to have steering wheel controls, nor to be able to fade audio front left/right... so i have it set for "XP/toyota/camry/amp" and that seems to be the best so far.
I wonder if a differen version of the canbus adapter would resolve...

Bought the Joying head unit because of your thread and video. I was surprised how easy this radio was to install, I'm not used to plug and play radio wiring harnesses, I didn't even need any extra wiring for the steering wheel controls. Appreciate the post man. I bought the 9'' model without knobs. As a bonus it also sounds better than the alpine I had installed before, seems to be a decent audio driver in the Joying units.

The head unit looks like it was meant to be from the factory.

Joying 9" in a 2014 Tacoma Entune Non JBL.

Everything is fine. My Center, Left, Right and Back buttons don’t work on the steering wheel. Don’t miss them yet as I don’t really remember using them before.

My subwoofer is not working. I have power to it. The 12v trigger works but no Audio. It could be that I forgot to plug the RCA in because……..

What a pain in the ass to mount the stupid ass radio. I want to save anyone else the hassle and see the photo below. Basically I was only able to get one screw per a side in the large hole and had to cut off the 4 tabs. After that everything went great. But because of the in and out I may have forgotten 1 RCA cable.

The sound is 20x better with stock speakers.

Car Play works great and if you update carlink you can have wireless android auto as of 5 days ago.

The head unit is snappy and responsive. I look forward to customizing it. I am super happy with it especially for the amount of money. When my USB adapter shows up I will check the RCA and hunt down that problem. Just need a few days playing than installing.

Just for the record... You don't have to use the mounting bracket... I have mine plugged into the back of the touchscreen and it clips into place and so far has been solid...

If you already have the backup camera you may want to try plugging in the “HD” version and seeing if there is a difference. Unless there is some magic going on a single rca video input should only be able to support 480i. There is no HDMI but I did see Joying selling a USB to HDMI converter but I haven’t found the setting to pick backup camera source.

Has anyone had any luck getting TPMS readings from the head unit? Can you post a screenshot if so?

Check the notes on the YouTube video referenced below. It’s linked in the description. 2 downloads, unzip files to USB drive and plug in. It automatically installs.

The YouTube video shows how to do the whole install.

It does and the quality isn’t bad either. A little bit more glossy than stock but matches climate control panel perfectly.

Hi all, new to this forum and also debating the unit with knobs vs. w/out. How do you like this unit without knobs? do you miss them?
