Have you tried resetting it? The sticker on mine says to reset it if there are any issues on initial start up.

any one else have pics of how they mounted the brackets? I have an ‘11 and was scratching my head on how to mount it but I had to put it aside because the kid woke up from his nap.

I just used the clips to hold it in place. It's not very heavy and felt fairly secure. Haven't driven the truck yet to see just how secure though. None of the holes lined up right from the other radio bracket that I had in there.

I managed to make the factory bracket work but with just one screw on each side. I believe it is the top back screws. The rest don’t line up. I thought about cutting slots so that the front screws had a channel to slide around in but just one screw each side seems secure.
I haven’t tested it offroad yet. I’ll have to wait until spring for some nice washboard road testing

Anyone manage to make the left/center/right buttons work on the steering wheel? That’s my only thing I don’t like about the unit at the moment is the loss of those three buttons

In the directions (which is comical) you have to press the reset button under the faceplate anytime you connect the screen wire.

Is there a secret on how to make the android auto work on this headunit and put up a new background picture? Mine is having trouble just logging into my Google account. At least it plays music.

I installed my 8" unit last week. I've been happy with it so far. It's all wired up using the factory back up camera and I didn't have to cut/tap into any of the factory harness. I bought a harness off Amazon and de-pinned it as another member did earlier in this thread. I used one of the extra wires that I pulled out and added it to the joying harness for the reverse trigger and soldered everything together. Camera is a little blurry, but not bad. I'm just using the clips to hold everything in, I didn't transfer the metal bracket from the old radio.

Is there a secret to getting text messages to come through? I can hit the Google voice button and send a message but when I receive them they don't show up and just says no messages received while on this drive. Still need to figure out how to make the Android auto wireless

Has anyone with a 2012+ taco used a steering wheel controller/adaptor to get all the buttons to work?

I was reading that with the latest updates Google stopped allowing text through Android auto for some reason (liability?) where it previously worked fine.

Also, I'm concluding that android auto as it currently stands is buggy as hell at least where Maps is concerned. It seems to work well one day and not so well the next.

2014-2015 has a different steering wheel setup than 2012-13's. I think that's why you can't get those buttons to work. Mine all work, but I don't have the "joystick" on the left side either.

I have a 2014 with a four way selection pad on the left of steering wheel. I have the same buttons not working at the previous poster.

I don’t know if you’re still looking but any files saved on your android unit can be accessed in the file manager app. From there you can set any picture to wallpaper.

Anyone know how to reboot the 10” head unit? I don’t see any buttons at all including a pin for a reset. It just froze up this morning and the backup camera just goes black. Can’t hear anything and can’t touch anything on screen

Yea I also noticed that a lot of my contacts on my phone are now gone since I connected it to the radio.

It is under the face plate and you will need a paper clip or something similar to push it.

There was a way to avoid that posted earlier in the thread somewhere.

Think it was to make sure the Google account didn't synch contacts and set Bluetooth to access contacts.

Right, but where under the faceplate. The entire unit is behind there so that kinda like saying “it’s in the truck”

I pulled at the sides of the face plate and the face plate came right off. It’s attached onto the main unit with four slide in type tabs and a ribbon cable
