On my 14 Entune I had to plug the 2 RCAs that are part of the harness into the RCA Inputs. You can buy a separate harness to make the stock USB port work too.

For those with these units, did you order the OBD option, and if so, how well is it working?

Got updated that it should arrive on the 23rd...the same day I was planning to leave for the road trip. Guess I'm prepping install the night before and leaving for a 800 mile drive as soon as it's installed.

Google Maps. You can download maps for off line use if you don’t always have service in that area. For us it’s parts of Alaska and Canada. If you use CarPlay, Waze Gia Google Apple Maps all work great.

All installed. Was surprised that it came with a factory usb, and factory backup cam connections! The USB dash cam is nice. Can't wait for the road trip Thursday, now!

Hell yeah, no cutting, splicing or ordering! Did you happen to take a picture of the harness for others?

Well, I placed my order for the 8" unit with knobs. I've got answers to most my questions and I'll find the answers to the rest when it gets here. I did get a different android HU for my son's Ford Focus for Christmas (an Xtrons), so I'll have some experience with the android units by the time the Joying gets here. I was considering the Aucar Tesla-style unit but it is pretty expensive for something that doesn't have all the bugs worked out yet.

Anyone get the unit for JBL? Did it come with a canbus decoder/adapter? If so, did that allow you to get all the steering wheel controls to work?

I noticed there was a Rear Camera In RCA connector coming out of the back of the Joying hu, not one of the onboard rca's, but a wired one. And there was another Rear Camera RCA adapter coming off the joying wire harness that connected to Taco harness. I almost missed it but when i plugged the two RCA connectors together the backup cam came up as soon as I put it in reverse. I'm gonna use the backup cam that I bought with the unit and plug it into the onboard video input for additional views

It looks like my unit came with all the firmware updates too. Listed as being manufactured in Dec. Or at least assembled.

is there an stock AUX to RCA connector to maintain the stock AUX input below the stock USB? I saw the joying harness has RCA inputs for L and R.

Pulled the trigger on one of these for Christmas... I had already ordered the Dasaita last month, but before it shipped I learned that its SD card slot isn't accessible without removing the dash. It's literally on the side of the radio, where the brackets go. Who thought that was a good idea? Perhaps they'd also design a car without a fuel filler... just drop the tank to refuel. Anyway I cancelled the Dasaita and ordered the Joying instead, currently mid install, but wanted to take a break to rant...

God, the gloss black is so awful! I didn't think it would bother me that much, but when I unpacked it, I decided I would have to paint it. First I thought I'd see if my exterior touch-up paint would be a good match to the gray-silver dash...

    20211221_032208.jpg

The answer is: definitely not! What a terrible idea...

I hit it with good ol flat black instead, and it looks a million times better now.

Then I started hacking up the wiring harness for my application and found this: All the wires are fake!

Here's the main power wire, clearly labeled 16AWG, and thick enough to look it.

    wire.jpg

But if you cut it, it's a 20 gauge conductor at best, with stupidly thick insulation and blatantly false labelling, for the sole purpose of deceiving us. The blue wire I'm holding next to it is real 16ga wire. The speaker output wire looks like 22ga or smaller!

Look, I know we're buying cheap electronics from communist China, none of us expect quality. I wish they would just cut the bullshit already.

Build the harness with 20 gauge wire, see if I care. I'm still going to buy it. There is no need to make special fake wire here. Just boils my blood.

if its from the truck, does it come with the sensor, or tap into the Taco's sensor? Inquiring minds want to know... :D

I should clarify. Anyone get the JBL version and have this steering wheel: upload_2021-12-21_17-26-40.jpg

and get all the buttons to work?

    Or this:
