Yes, the red box is the canbus adapter. It comes with the harness for Tacos with the JBL HU. Not sure why, though. I know the steering wheel controls are different and I think for JBL models it gets steering wheel controls from the canbus. But I'm not sure what else it gets you. Anyone have an idea?

For me, the launcher is com.android.launcher3. I would suggest anyone installing a new loader take a look at what their launcher is first and write it down before installing a new one.

I don't have the temp in the status bar like you do. The only temp I see is on the weather widget on the home screen and it reads a constant 21C (even though I changed the setting to F). I think it gets temp in the status bar from the canbus. I'm tempted to buy the canbus harness to see if it will work with my non-JBL unit. It is $36 on their website.

I'm not sure the CANBUS is the solution since I have it and still don't get accurate temp in the status bar. It either reads 0*C or 32*F and I have the weather channel app downloaded, but it really only works if I'm connected to wifi since I don't have a SIM card installed. I'm assuming the status bar temp is either dependent on if you have the optional OBD cable or SIM card.

Is there an option for the Status bar temp under the Factory settings? I've haven't unlocked that setting yet so haven't been able to look around at advanced stuff

I have the bluetooth OBD module and that doesn't help with temp :-(

Unless I missed it inside of another setting, I can't find any way to turn on or off the status bar items, except for something called NET switch (shows 0 k/s) under Display where you can choose wallpaper and screen timeout.

Where is the Carlink upgrade to allow us to do wireless Android Auto? Has anyone tried switching from the Carlink app to ZLink app? Does Zlink do wireless Android Auto?

Carlink 2.0 that came with my joying 9" does wireless android auto but I still use the wire. Wireless drains the f*CK out of your battery

Well, this is interesting. I tried to go to the Joying website to ask a question, but my browser pegged it as a security threat. Tried it with another browser and even a different device and got the same thing. The message I got from the browser on my tablet suggest that they might be hacked. Anyone else connect to the Joying web site today?

    Need some help with install:

I have a 2010 with JBL system and I purchased the 8" Joying Unit with CANBUS connection.

    1) Do I need to connect the two 4G antennas if i am not using the 4G LTE SIM card for data?

    2) Currently, only two RCA's from the harness provides me audio: FL/FR..... none of the other 4RCA's provide sound. When messing with the sound output, if i set the sound to all rear speakers, i get no sound. Meaning, i can only adjust L/R sound and no F/R. What RCA's do i need to hook up in order to control all speakers individually? Also, the Subwoofer control settings does nothing.

    3) MAX volume isn't all that loud. I have the loud setting set to ON. Am i missing something?

    4) I have two of the large white harness connected, is that all that's needed?

    5) SWC only works if i program the buttons within the settings? I thought buying the CANBUS makes it plug and play once its all connected?

    1) No, you don't need them connected if you aren't using a cellular SIM card. I did not connect mine.

    2) Are you using a 3rd party amplifier? If so, then use the outputs on the back of the HU, not the ones from the harness. If you aren't using an amplifier, then it should just use the speaker connections from the plugs. Also, there are some settings you MIGHT need to change (not sure, don't use an amp) to indicate that you are using an AMP and a subwoofer. I'll see if I can find them and post where they are.

    3) Not using an AMP and it was plenty loud for me. I did replace my speakers back in November (installed the joying last week), so I'm not using the stock speakers.

    4) Everything that you unplugged from your old head unit should be plugged into the Joying harness or the back of the Joying head unit. Sounds like you might have missed a plug. Can you provide us a pic of the back of the old HU and a pic of the connectors on the Joying harness?

    5) Make sure CAN OUT is plugged into CAN IN. Yes, you do have to map the buttons after you install the unit. You should only have to do it once, though.

    2) I have no external sub/amp, other than the stock JBL sub/amp. The Joying has two harnesses that i can use to plug into the truck, one with two RCA's, and the other with four RCA's. The only way for me to get sound is to plug in a pair of those RCA's from one of the Joying harness.

    3) There is a menu within the setting for audio input balancing, and i can max out each input device volume. I guess this works but it still can't get as loud (not necessarily better but loud) as OEM.

    5) The only way for my SWC to work is to do CAN OUT plugged into KEY. Programming the buttons work when i do it this way. I just thought it would work right off the bat.

If I dont need to connect any RCA's, then i think they sent me the wrong wiring harness.

Did any of you need to connect the RCA's to get sound from your stock JBL radio?

Your pictures don't show all of the harness(es). Could you show us pics that show the complete harness. Also, can you post a pic of the back of the Joying head unit? Could you also send us a pic of the back of your factory head unit so we get an idea of the factory connectors you have in the Tacoma? You did order the unit specific to the Tacoma, right? The head units themselves are the same, but the wiring harnesses and fascia are specific to the model you order it for.

Did they send you two different wiring harnesses?

This is the harness they sent me. I am assuming I would use plug #2 with the two RCA's:

Yeah, I think they sent you the wrong wiring harness. You should send them those pictures of the front and back of the HU, so they can make sure they send you the correct one. The harness they sent you doesn't have connectors for the 2nd and 3rd white sockets from the left.

I had that same HU in my 2010, but I never replaced it. Except mine wasn't JBL (odd since it had the TRD OR package).
