I reached out to Joying and they are sending me a different harness.
Can you share a picture of the harness you used for yours since we basically have the same oem HU

Support has been top notch with them so far. The center bezel clip was broke during shipping and they sent me a new bezel without hassle

Post a pic of that new harness when you get it. Good Luck.

So am i correct by saying that i will not be needing to connect any RCA's to get sound? Meaning i only need to connect the proper harnesses to get sound.

Another launcher, Car Launcher Pro. I bought the t like 6 years ago for a previous (failed) actual tablet head unit project. They have a few themes to choose from by default and you can download more.

Any recommendations on what to program my SWC button "MODE" to? I don't see a "change input" shortcut. I currently have it saved as the HOME shortcut.

I programmed mine to SRC. I also thought about making it home.

EDIT: SRC is the change input shortcut. It appears to cycle through all the audio sources as well as whatever you've selected as your default Navigation app.

I installed my unit on Dec 30th. I have the 8" with the knobs. One thing I have noticed from my first use is that occasionally, when I turn the volume up with the knob, it will immediately drop back 2, 3 or 4 levels. Sometimes, I turn it up and it drops all the way back to zero. But, if I start playing with the knob, I can't get it to do that. So I don't know if I have a dodgy knob or if it is something in the software. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any one having trouble downloading apps in Google Play store such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+? I can't find it in there. I looked for APK files to manually install it but none of them work. Any advice?

I have Netflix working on mine. Someone a few pages back posted a YouTube video on how to install it. Followed that and worked. It’s an older version but works perfectly fine

What's the newest Android level they are offering now? Seems units like this typically have a code level that's 2+ years old which seems insane to me.

I ran a Nexus 9 as a tablet headunit in the truck for a few years and it was incredible. Unfortunately, the software aged out and some apps quit working and I had to move on. I thought Android Auto would satisfy my needs but I've got the itch again and I need to do something I think.

Thank you. This worked. Hoping someone has a solution for Hulu and Disney+

Bam! Loving this head unit more each day. My plan to add a front camera worked as I hoped. Picked up this cam from Amazon for $34, connected the video RCA male into the Video In port on the back of the head unit, tapped ignition power and ground under the hood, fired up the built-in Front Video app and voila, anytime front camera!

Disclaimer: Do NOT try to cut and splice the video cable making it easier to pass through the firewall and to get rid of the extra 8' of cable that would be used for a rear camera install unless you want to deal with the joy of soldering and insulating all 3 24g wires under the hood. I have plenty of experience soldering but since you're dealing with such small, fragile wires and video transmission that can pick up interference if you don't insulate properly, it wasn't wort the headache.

Running the AGAMA launcher, I made a shortcut to the Front Video app and now I can turn it on anytime. I eventually snipped the white and green wires on the wiring harness to flip the view horizontally and to remove the driving lines.

Found a pretty discrete spot to mount it on my Pro grille. Did require some creative drilling and filing since you can't drill straight from either side of the grille. If I had mounted it a few more mm back I would've been able to use the nut they supplied, but I ended up using my own lower-profile nut to fit below plastic trim on the back of the grille. Overall, pretty happy with the install.

I have a 2015 Tacoma Limited with a JBL system. I would love love to know if, how and what you told joying to get the rear factory camera working. It looks like some of you were able to get it working without cutting or splicing into any of the wires. Please let me know what adapters you used. I would love to get the Joying with the knobs.

There is a factory connector on the joying side that has a yellow rca cable coming out of it. Plug that into the yellow rca cable coming out of the back of the joying head unit

I am not understanding. From what you said you are plugging in a joying rca to the joying head unit. Where does that plug into the truck? Pictures?
