Wait... you can upgrade the memory!? I didn't see that on the 10.1 model.

I need to slow down on purchases! The truck isn't even here yet and I have 5100's, Morimoto fogs and mirror lights, WeatherTech's, a bed cover, tailgate lock, AND this radio on the way. I took all next week off to dial 'er in. Should be a great week off!

Ahh, okay. Not offered on the 10.1 with the bougie screen. Dang, I should have looked at all options closer.

    I don't feel so bad now. ;)

Eh, I do really like the clean look of no buttons, especially since I have all the steering wheel buttons. If they release a 9" that's 1080p, and not 800p resolution AND Android 11 OS over the current 10, then I'll upgrade and sell my current one.

So what is the trick to installing this into a 2011? I have all of the plugs/wiring working. My issue is that the unit will not stay in place without the brackets, but with the brackets it sticks out too far. Like 1/2” too far. Have tried a few different combinations of screw holes and angles. Nothing has worked. It’s like the box behind the screen isn’t deep enough into the dash when the brackets are on.

I don't have my radio or my truck yet (both are sitting in shipping limbo). I thought the face of the chassis secures to the new bezel. From there I was assuming a guy could use two pieces of 'radio back strap' type metal and secure the chassis sides to the dash using the factory radio bracket screws/bolts. That's my plan until I see everything in front of me.

I didn't use the brackets at all. Just clipped the hu chassis onto the clips on the back of the screen and it hasn't moved

In my 2011, if I don’t use the brackets off the stock radio, I can clip the screen to the radio unit as needed, but the clips on the bezel designed to go into the dash do not hold everything in place. I saw where someone use some double sided 3M tape around the clips to help take up the space between the clip and the slots in the dash. Might try that, but doesn’t sound ideal. I was expecting the u it to fit easier/better based on everyone else’s experience.

Ah, that may be a 2nd gen thing. I know the 2.5 gen (2013-15) had updated interior but I don't know if anything around the clips is different.

Have you pulled it off to see if all of the bezel clips are still in tact, not broke? The top middle clip on mine was broke, but the bezel still sits secure. Joying did send me a replacement bezel right away. I just haven't swapped them out yet

Nevermind. I’m a dumma$$. Took a look at stock radio and the Joying side by side. I didn’t move the yellow/green clips over to the Joying from the stock bezel. Clips in fine with those on. No need for the factory metal brackets on the side of the OEM radio.

Glad you found the issue. If any of you netween Texas/Utah and California see a Carvana car hauler with a 2013 TRD Sport Doublecab on the back... snap a photo. The waiting is the hardest part.

I really love the joying unit just by reading everything the part I don’t like is losing the USB factory plug in, has anyone bought a new one and replaced that one that plugs in to the Joying unit no problem?
