I got one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F0YJ49O With that the factory USB works just fine. If you want to use Apple Carplay or Android Auto using the factory USB, make sure you plug it into the USB port labeled "OTG".

Anyone ever have to ship anything back to Joying? I have been having an issue with the volume knob, but Joying wanted to replace the "metal box" to see if that fixed the problem. So they sent one. I tried it. Still had same problem. So they had me ship the "metal box" back and once they receive it, the will send me a new screen (with knobs) to see if that solves the problem. So, I've been tracking the package. It cleared customs in China on Wednesday and landed in a UPS warehouse in Shenzhen early Thursday morning (local time) and was "out for delivery" later that day. Then it says "Package delayed in transit. Delivery will be rescheduled." It got rescheduled for Monday, but on Sunday, the "delayed in transit" message showed up again. They've scanned it in the warehouse about 10 times since then, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Is this normal?

On the Fascia around the radio, somewhere around the CD slot, there will be a little "JBL" logo if you have JBL. Feel free to post a picture of the front and back of your radio here to help us make a more informed recommendation.

Yeah, send Joying an email or use their chat function. Explain what you have. They DO have a wiring harness that should work for you.

im glad someone asked about the 2012 non JBL radio, I like the 9" radio but got confused. I think I still might just go with the 10" without buttons since I use the steering wheel controls for everything.

    1. The blue plug is your shark fin/sat radio antenna. One of the white ones is your stock usb plug and requires and adapter to work. See ads below on Amazon. The third one maybe you Hazard/Clock plug.

    2. this is for your stock antenna. You are suppose to plug it in the head unit and plug the stock Fm antenna into the adapter. You have it wired up wrong

You also need to hook up the 2 RCA plugs into the Aux in for the stock Aux Jack to work.

Finally found a UPS site that says delivery in Shenzhen has been suspended due to the pandemic. https://www.ups.com/cn/en/service-alerts.page
At least my new display should arrive today or tomorrow.

My truck arrived yesterday, so far I'm really pleased. My radio is in China, Customs, or somewhere in between.

Did someone figure out how to use/leave the backup camera display in the mirror? I'd rather leave the existing cam / display alone and reserve the option for the additional camera somewhere else (maybe lower / license plate frame) - and have two displays.

    Is that basically this plug:

where do enter 5768 passcode? I can only enter the 3368 to get inside the factory page. None of the other passcodes mentioned in this thread worked except for 3368. Am I doing something wrong?

Once you are into the factory settings, there are some setting that require passcodes. If 3368 doesn't work, try 5768. I think it gets you into developer settings, too.
Where is the setting to change the UI (I assume that's user interface)?

If your backup cam is already in the mirror, then you don't have to do anything to leave it there. If your backup camera currently goes through the head unit, then that wiring harness MIGHT allow you to use the existing backup camera with the head unit. Some Tacoma models have a backup camera that runs on 6v rather than 12. There are several threads on moving the mirror backup cam to the head unit. If you want to move a head unit backup camera to the mirror, then you need a new mirror at the very least and should probably just go with one of the backup camera to mirror kits on Amazon.

Got my new display today and replaced it (and it seems to have fixed the volume knob problem). I checked out my unit and what do you know, there is indeed a micro-SD card slot in my unit near the bottom on the left side. I looked all over the online doc for my model, as well as the docs that came with it, and never found that info other than one statement saying "micro-SD supported 64GB". Thanks for that!
