While that’s slick too - I was referring to the radio itself :)

Just a heads up to those looking for the 9" button less version. If my truck doesn't sell privately I'm the next month, I'll be reinstalling the factory radio for a trade-in on my truck. Will be selling mine, for a 2013+ JBL version

dang I wonder what the differences are in connections? I did fully pull out the unit and back on stock JBL hu. I'll have the Joying for sale in a few weeks I think. I bought all the available options with it. Dash cam, backup cam, tpms (that I couldn't get to work right) and i think something else. I checked all the boxes

Quick question for those with 10+ inch radios that stick out past the bezel - does the screen vibrate when going over bumps/driving or does it remain rigid? Just had a thought of it vibrating all over the place when I’m wheeling and not sure I like the thought of that

On the fence about picking up a Joying 9" unit. With folks complaining about the glare off of the gloss black top bezel I'm wondering if you could transfer the head unit in a scosche bezel.

I would say highly unlikely that would work. I believe someone separated the bezel and painted it.

A couple people put matte vinyl on top of the bezel to cut the glare. Cost a couple bucks for a roll and you need a couple cents worth.

What's the AHD reverse camera option? And can I run multiple cameras or will I need a switcher?

The matte black vinyl worked for me. I went with this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283249344812

Do you have any concerns about heat from the transmission, plus the general lack of airflow (enclosing the amp in what is effectively a semi-insulated heat-trapping space) causing amplifier overheating issues (temporary cut-outs until it cools off,) or even premature failure?

+1 on this, I also plan to feed a miniDSP (separate pre-amp) via the optical-out from a Joying head unit. Would like to hear any comments or experiences on sound quality or functionality if anyone else is using the optical-out port.

I read all 37 pages of this thread & have decided to go for the current 9" Joying unit.

My Taco is a 2014 4.0L Access Cab 6spd-manual 4WD (TRD-Off Road). I have the non-JBL OEM head unit at present.
I just ordered the Joying 9" unit from eBay, Manufacturer Part Number: JY-TQ187N8G-B.

I'm also getting a PAC-USB-TY1 USB harness so I can keep the OEM USB port. https://www.amazon.com/PAC-USB-TY1-Toyota-Lexus-Retention/dp/B00F0YJ49O/

Due to adding a bed cap w/ solid rear swing doors (removing tailgate) I will be deleting the factory backup camera. I plan to add a separate hi-rez rear-view-mirror substitute backup camera, so no concerns about backup-cam connection to the Joying. It's a pity Joying doesn't support USB or HDMI backup cam input; RCA video signal at 480p can't do justice to contemporary HD (and beyond) cameras.

From what I gather here, assuming they ship the right part # I will not need any other wiring or harnesses to install this. Here are some shots of my current head unit & steering wheel. Appreciate any comments or remarks, i.e. if I have ordered the wrong part number or am forgetting some harness or plug that I will need.

Expected delivery is not till end of May/early June; I will post my install & post-install experiences here in due course.

I'm running a dasaita, but I wanted to share that using a wireless mouse makes it much easier to update software, etc.

Man I love it!! Haven’t gotten to drive the truck since installing it yet but the little bit I’ve played with it has been awesome. It’s the 10.1” Joying listed here: https://www.joyingauto.com/newest-1...05-2015-head-unit-supports-apple-carplay.html

Def still need to figure out a few configuration things but got Netflix working, wired and wireless CarPlay works, output to the new sub and amp works, all speakers work… seems to be promising so far. Wireless car play is a little laggy, but wired is almost no lag.

As mentioned I also got my sub and amp installed, super happy with how it turned out. Welded a couple brackets in the bottom of the cubby to mount the amp to. Trimmed out the cubby area to fit. Sub fit great behind rear passenger seat. All super clean, you wouldn’t know it’s there without pulling up the seats

The amp looks cozy in there under the closed door & seat insulation above that. How hot does it run? Any issues with overheating when playing loud & long?

I’ve yet to have any issues but I also haven’t had a chance to drive the truck either :) I just rebuilt the engine, chopped and lifted the front of the frame, replaced steering rack, motor mounts, etc., refreshed the front suspension and am in the process of installing long travel in the rear… she should be rolling by next weekend fingers crossed and I’ll be able to come to a better conclusion then  I really don’t anticipate much of an issue; there’s about 2” of space both below and above the amp so it’s not totally insulated by material. Wouldn’t be difficult at all to tap a little 12v fan in there if overheating does become an issue though…
