I would have preferred the 8” one, but when I ordered it looked like it was out of stock for awhile or discontinued.

Anyone have issues with their CarPlay volume too low? Either that or my radio volume is too loud. I've already turned my radio volume slider in the settings down to 0. I can't figure it out.

Also, anyone able to use their factory mount brackets with this?

I wasn't able to use my factory mounts, it just clicked in behind the plastic. It seems sturdy but does make me a little nervous.

I haven't had any issues with the volume.

I was looking at Joying but found a Kenwood I like for $336 including free installation. The Kenwood has a dvd player that I really don't want but it does have the anytime rear camera feature. Then I started looking again at Joying (only good prices are the ones shipping from China). I then ran across one from xtreme audio (probably same mfr as the other Chinese models). This one is packed with features such as android auto and carplay, navigation, gps with antenna, 2 usb outs with cables, rear camera, etc and is on sale for $250 and the company is based in the USA. I just don't know anything about the brand. It does have a 1 year warranty. I am curious if anyone here has any experience with the brand. I added the install video and the features are shown at 9:30. Like some others the stereo is fixed with the existing and included dash clips. No mount bracket. Looking for any feedback or advice. This unit looks awesome but I don't want to regret saving $50 for a bad unit.

Just an FYI, joying has vendors based in and shipping from the US also, it just depends on the exact model you need.

Also everything about that model you posted has outdated hardware compared to the Joying. Only has 3g, not LTE, lower res screen compared to all others. Only 2GB ram compared to 4GB. I'd avoid that one...there's a reason it's cheaper

Have you searched the audio forum yet for Xtreme Audio? I would start there, I bet most of the folks reading this thread have gone with the Joying.

I can't find anything on TW or anywhere else on the xtreme. That model was the lower price of 2. The $300 model may have better ram and LTE. Not sold on xtreme. Like the Joying but usa vendors are higher than the Kenwood. I don't spend much time in my truck so want to do a budget upgrade. Anything is better than the stock 08 radio with a bluetooth adapter. Will look more at Joying options. Thanks.

I know it may be a little slower but gonna try the new version Atoto for $250 complete with dash kit, harness and camera. Unbiased reviews look pretty good. Slow to load apps but, once loaded, access is pretty quick. I drive this truck MAYBE once a week. I think this is a better option for me. If it poops out I will just put a cheap single din unit in and still be better off than the junk oem radio.

I am having problems with radio reception. I just plugged the oem radio plug into the Joying head unit - so it uses the same antenna plug. My radio reception was really good with the original oem radio, but sucks with the Joying. What am I missing?

That is weird. I just installed my Atoto unit and my reception is better than it ever was with the stock radio.

Mine is as good or better with the Joying head unit. You may want to re-check that connection. Also, did you use the OEM bracket with the Joying install? May also be a good grounding issue.

[IMG] I tried adding the OEM bracket hoping it was the grounding - still very bad reception. Is it because I didn't use the Joying antenna wire (see pic)? I don't seem to have an antenna 2 prong plug that would connect to the Joying wire in my 2012. I just used the OEM antenna with a single plug. Do I need a signal booster or something?

I have a question regarding the dual usb cables. My truck is a 2008 which only has a single power point and a single lighter port in the lower accessory dash. For me it was a no brainer to remove the lighter assembly. Then I simply pulled the included long usb cables through the old lighter hole. I then bought a round dual port usb extension to mount in the old lighter socket: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N66N1JK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Great idea except I am not disassembling my dash to have access to the nut behind the new dual usb socket.

I found a grommet that fit in the old black lighter sleeve/heat shield for $1.80. It has a larger hole than I wanted however the usb ends were an extremely tight fit. This will do for now and does look better than the big opening left from the lighter. I have short 5" usb to usb-c 3.0 cable, for my Galaxy phone, on the end of the hu usb phone-data link cable. Still better, for now, that taking the dash apart.

I checked the antenna connection and it seems fine - even tapped it in so it stays locked in. Added a grounding wire from the bolt connecting the factory mount to the frame, so it is properly grounded. It sounds as if the antenna is not connected at all. Do I have a defective unit? I'm at a total loss why the radio reception is so bad. Everything else works great.

1st of all I have an Atoto and not a Joying. In my case my factory radio had trouble with tuning where stations would fade in and out. I wasn't sure if it was the radio or the antenna. I was very concerned about the antenna but swapped head units anyway. Now I get much better reception so in my case it was the bad factory head unit. Make sure, as I think was stated, that your head unit is setup for the correct zone (country/region). I would think that a 2012 antenna would be better than my 2008. To rule out the antenna you could always buy a Metra antenna at Walmart and simply plug it into your head unit (no need to mount it to test it). If reception is better then you know it is a problem with your factory antenna. If it is not better simply return the new antenna for a refund. This would help narrow down the source of your problem and would provide a better diagnosis for the Joying tech support. Sorry for your troubles.

I've contacted Joying "help" a couple of times and they have always responed within 24 hours or less. I attribute that to the time difference.

Solved my potato microphone problem by installing this guy:. https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-toy1/

This is a drop in OEM fitting insert to replace the stock mic that plugs into the back of the Joying HU. It goes in there between the lights.

My wife is now OK with talking to me on Bluetooth and said it sounds better than the original OEM head unit mic.

Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to adjust the Navigation Volume in CarPlay?

I know I use to be able to do it by going to Settings-Maps-Navigation Volume but it seems Apple has removed this option. I set the to the lowest for around town and now I can’t hear the navigation on the highway.

    Joying questions:

    1. I understand that I need a new Joying backup camera ( but I also read someplace that it’s pure plug and play. I don’t know). Do I run new cable/wire? Does the HU and Joying backup camera use the existing Toyota plug and cabling.

    2. Looks like I can get a second camera. I want one on the front of the truck. Recommendations? Do I have to buy Joying (brand)? What camera "standard" will work with the Joying HU?

Interested in this model : JOYING 10.1 Android Car Stereo Double Din Head Unit 4GB+64GB 8 cores Android 10 Car Radio 1920x1200 Resolution Screen Carplay

    I have a 2014 Sport, non-JBL
