Thanks for that. I watched a couple videos on it just now and ordered a camera. I'm hoping to fit it into the stock location tailgate handle.

Make sure it's the right type of ODB2 connector. Not all of them will work with the Joying. and to be fair, i may have just got a crap one. When I looked for an alternative it seemed they were all a similar one to what Joying used. I think I've asked in this thread before and I'm not sure anyone else has gotten a different ODB2 adapter to work

I'm selling a Joying 9" buttonless touch screen that I bought back in December, and uninstalled a few months ago when I sold the truck. Asking $500 +shipping (should be around $20 probably). I have pics of it somewhere in this thread. They don't sell this version anymore, only the ones with buttons.

This came off a 2014 w/JBL. So should fit 2013-2015, maybe 2012 also.

Also it looks like there's up upgrade path to Android 12 now. Do your own research on which versions firmwares you need, and at your own risk

    https://www.joyingauto.com/blog/category/updated-files-released/

    Pls Attention:

    1) After system updating, you must need to reboot the head unit.

    2) You will have the USB network sharing function after system update. your network speed will be improved better by this function.

(PS: You need to update your UIS7862 head unit with "2022-6-27" file firstly and then update to android 12.0 system. otherwise, the USB network sharing function cannot be used)

Thanks for the heads up. Curious if the unit ordered yesterday will have the updates. Would it be worth emailing Joying to have them update the unit if it hasn’t shipped yet? Might do it anyway and see what they say…

If it's coming from the China warehouse it's likely they have it up to date, but you'd probably have to do the android 12 update. Can always email them to make sure

My HU has a 7/16 build date. It would be so sweet if it was Android 12 out of the box.

    Nope. Says Android 10.

Just cause I'm 'taco 4 life even tho I sold it', I still wanna document some Jeep JK stuff here unless people object. Below is a of basically what the 11.6" (12") joying unit will replace in the JK Rubicon

And hey, Taco related, that 2nd Gen Tacoma DCSB Snugtop XTR topper is for sale!

Has anyone had success finding a 4G data-only provider? I tried T-mobile, but they said the Joyings aren't compatible with their network.

I use Google Fi which piggy backs off of T-mobile's network and it worked fine for me...and I'll be doing it again with the Jeep. So i don't see why T-mobile wouldn't work on it. Google Fi provides free data-only sims. My unlimited data plan is like $75 a month

    none yet
More likely T-mo doesn't want to be bothered by it/support it if there is a problem

I wish I had more info too. I was just dealing with their agent via text. Maybe I'll try to go into a store...
Their 2Gb/month is only $20....seems not too awful

Both Joying and T-Mobile say they support:

    4G LTE
    • Frequencies that can provide LTE:
      • Band 2(1900 MHz)
      • Band 5 (850 MHz)
      • :notsure::fingerscrossed:

    Update 7/26

T-mobile tells me the new data SIM is active, but nothing. I got hungry so until tomorrow.

The amplifier does sound good. Better than the stock HU. So it’s a win there.

BlueTooth - CarPlay works but seems a bit flaky, maybe user error. Not as seamless as the VW.

Also confirmed, the box does get warm.

Never give up (on the first try) T Mobile works

    Question?

I have a 20 pin connector (not 10 pin) from the Joying HU that is unused. It has 2 RCA's. Is that normal? For what is it used?

    OEM Backup cam works.

Well done. Did the info from pg. 8 of this thread help?

I think that connector is for the CAN-BUS box, if you have one. On my VW, that connector has the CAN-BUS module plugged in.

Re: T-mobile. I went into an actual store and they had ZERO reservations about signing me up for their data plan. lol
I just have to get the energy to disassemble my dash again.

It's interesting the SIM card uses slot 2. I would have assumed slot 1, since there's only one physical card slot
