Yes. Just remove the tabs that are attacted to the back of the screen. The face plate holds the screen in place. It's got a little play but I plan on putting some tape behind the face plate to snug it up a little. This is also in an 09 so I'm not sure about fitment with a 2012 and up.

I installed mine this weekend. I just wanted to add that I don’t think it was intended to use the factory metal brackets. I think it was designed to just snap to the back of the screen. This is how I finally installed mine and it seems fine and the faceplate sits flush. I’m very pleased with mine so far. I haven’t been able to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit yet if anyone has any insight. I haven’t been able to get the steering wheel controls to work yet for some reason. I did figure out that the wire marked key and the wire marked can out need to be plugged together for the steering wheel controls to work. I will see if I can get them working when I have more time.

    1) First, pls choose key+canout in the back of the JOYING head unit as below:
    DA0B4151-C7F6-4DD2-9829-8F22F960C14E.jpg
    2) Pls choose null as below in setting-factory setting(3368)-car model:

    3) Then pls go into control app to learn and set the steering wheel control as below:

This is how everything was set up but the only button it would recognize was the voice button. I will try again when I get home. The only button I was able to learn was the voice button for some reason.

Do you have a reverse camera in your mirror or in the head unit? And if HU, did you run an aftermarket camera or wire up the stock with a voltage converter?

I have it on my mirror and my head unit. I t tapped off of the factory camera wires and ran a video wire over to head unit a long with a reverse signal wire. It all works good. The picture on the head unit isn’t the greatest but not horrible.

Ok so I got all the steering wheel buttons to learn except the ones I want. The volume up and down and the track skip buttons are unresponsive.

Awesome! I really like the look and functionality of the OP's unit. I know very little about car stereo systems. How far from plug and play (in a 2006) is this to get full features? Such as GPS. I see the manufacturer shows a sim card slot. What is that for? Cell service?

    none yet
sim card for a data plan, you can have Maps and Music streaming apps ready to go w/o pairing to your phone
GPS will need a GPS antenna, but that should come with the head unit and mounts someplace under the dash. It is a function of the head unit and not really connected to the rest of the truck.
Steering Wheel controls is the potential sticking point. If your truck has the controls already you should be good. If not you need to ether add the buttons to your existing wheel (button assembly, new Clock Spring, and the big $ a new Air Bag that has less trim for the buttons) or maybe do a steering wheel swap if you can find one with buttons and a good air bag (should still do a new clock spring over a used one)

GPS came with it. I think it would be pretty plug and play. I guess a few people have had issues with the steering wheel controls. Mine worked fine though. Nova launcher is how I changed the look.

Wow, I am not having the positive experience with these that a lot of guys are having.

Ordered from Joying direct. They shipped with the wrong harness. They followed up by sending a replacement which was also incorrect. I decided to wire it the old fashioned way and the touchscreen doesn't work at all and half the clips that hold the guts to the screen broke off while removing it for the third time to take a picture of their harness for them.

    Time for a chargeback.

Yep, I believe it's a problem with the pirated silicon they use in the touch controller - I had a problem once in a previous life with otherwise very good counterfeit chips that had similar quirks.

The "correct" harness they sent has everything except for the steering wheel control connections. Does anyone have any insight on getting those wired up to these units?

Edit: Here's a photo of the mismatched connectors from the "correct" harness and my truck - I'm assuming that small black connector carries (among other things) the CANBUS, since the first harness had a CANBUS decoder with the wrong ends on it and this one does not have a CANBUS decoder at all.

Does anyone have an idea of what the most expedient way to get these buttons working is going to be?

    Thanks.

Ya, not sure what exactly mine looked like. But I had leftover plugs. I assume for satellite radio, factory mic, etc.

Did either of you have problems with the factory steering wheel controls not working?

This dash kit came integrated with the unit.

I think I had had to go in settings and map the steering wheel buttons twice for some reason. But no issues since. Probably a dumb question, but did you go in the settings menu and map the buttons?

Yep. It doesn't detect the steering wheel button presses at all.
