I believe the 11.6" can be fitted into a 2nd gen. But you'll be pure touchscreen. I went with the 9" screen because I like a physical volume knob.

Is anyone using a dash cam with their Joying? If so, which one would you recommend?

Get the Joying Dash cam. It's USB and plugs directly into the back of the Joying. You can then use the Joying Dash Cam App with it. Love it

Hi, of the three usbs on the unit! Which is the signal?

also, which front camera did you go with and any insights on how best to wire it? I bought a 15 cam, seems straight forward but not with a switch. Doe your front cam work as soon as you click the switch on or do you have to go into apps?

    thanks!

edit: heard back from Joying, with instructions to use the OTG plug. Mine has a third USB on a wire coming out of the black SIM area.

Joying tells you which is signal vs power. If I remember correctly it’s also a different plug. Connected to the OEM USB AUX plug.

I added a power switch to the camera it’s connected directly to the battery there is a 5 amp fuse in there somewhere. Otherwise the camera would be constantly on. Parasitic power loss. There was no convenient switched power under the hood (YMMV).

So the power is the red wire at the camera. Did you just connect that to the battery? There is a wire near the RCA plug for signal. On the front camera, what did you connect it to? Than

I put a switch between the battery and the camera. If you connect directly to the battery with no switch the camera will always be on. Parasitic draw.

Where did you find this setting?

I wanna play around with my EQ and sound settings later today, don't recall seeing this anywhere before but maybe I missed it.

Forgot about the pic. But it's in the EQ app, and it's one of the four tabs at the bottom of the app. It may or may not be on, mine was. And it allows you to adjust the volume levels of each speaker independently

OK, sorry for being such a dummy...I think I get it. You ran a hot wire from the battery to the interior, put on the switch, then ran back out to the camera, correct? Did yours have the little red wire on the RCA end (head unit end?). If so, did you just leave that unconnected? it is the signal wire if i recall. I bought a GreenYi camera, which is pretty simple and not similar to many I see videos on. Thanks!!

Pics. You can see when I turn it on, it sets each speaker to a different volume

Err, I want to make a clarification here -- at least on my JOYING unit, and I suspect on all of them, this is not a volume adjustment panel. Rather, it lets you adjust the delay (in milliseconds) for the audio coming from each speaker. Its purpose is to allow you to time align the system so that the Left and Right stereo channels arrive at the driver's ears at the very same instant -- plus or minus a tenth of a millisecond.

Most average car head units lack this feature, which is why most car audio cannot have good stereo image reproduction. But with time-alignment offsets it's possible to adjust for the asymettrical distances between speakers and the driver's ears. Once properly corrected the stereo imaging magically reappears. Read more about time-alignment here: https://hometheaterhifi.com/technic...-the-most-out-of-high-fidelity-audio-systems/

You can upgrade older units to Android 12. It's on their blog support page

Considering the thread, “turn the volume up”.
