Connect what you can. There will be 2 or 3 that left over. The steering wheel controls are setup in a menu option. Here is a picture of the pass codes for some of the menu options.

I replaced the stock non JBL 6 disc with the Joying 8" with knobs a few years ago and it's been a definite upgrade. Just added the backup camera too.

    Steering wheel buttons work
One thing to know is you need to connect all at once before saving. Once you hit save you can’t add more without starting over. That’s how it worked for me.

Will send as many pictures as possible of installation.

You will notice the R is on the left side. Comes from the factory backwards and is correct. The hole pattern is not far enough down if right to right and left to left, you can see in picture. I tried it, so don’t bother.

You must file down the 3 alignment points on the bracket for it to sit flush. Screws go through holes marked in red.

I do wish there was more space for the face plate when it is snapped on. Definitely wish there was another 1/8”. It sits very tight. Will see how it holds.

Thought I may need a spacer but you don’t.
    This is everything screwed together.

Top part of the face plate needs to be removed.

I will be hooking up cameras in the future.
Also will hook up usb port to transfer data for custom Home Screen.

Still need to test gps signal and a bunch of other things, like how the phone connects and what can and cannot be used without disconnecting from car play.

    Sounds better than stock

    Like I said before
I do wish the screen would sit further off, but would require custom mounts

    Fyi
The OFFROAM phone mount is awesome.

Hello, where did you grab the reverse signal wire from? I am finally moving from an old Pioneer unit that didn't have Apple car play to the Joying and would like to have the factory rear camera popup on the screen. Like you my factory camera screen is in my rear view mirror.

What did you change? My factory backup camera shows a screen with 6 very hazy pictures so it is connected but not working properly. Thanks.

edit: got it to work. Front AR camera from Joying and rear factory camera both work although the latter is blurry like yours. Now to figure out how to get the bracket on the unit to get it all back into place! Will post pictures when done (prob tomorrow).

I'm considering this, but I have a couple of questions first:

    1. I have a non-JBL 2014 factory unit, which connects to a USB port in the lower dash, under the a/c knobs. I keep a microSD in a card reader there for most of my music. Does the Joying connect to that USB port, so I can continue to use it the same way I currently do? Does the 1/8" aux jack also work?

    2. If I'm going to stick with the factory rear backup camera, does it automatically pop up on the screen when I go into reverse, the same way the stock unit does? And do I need to get the AR rear camera option if I'm just using the factory camera?

    1) Yes, it will plug in.

    2) Yes, you can reuse your existing rear camera, and it'll pop up when you shift. Don't need the rear AR camera - but it's a good time to add a front camera setup.

So I returned the android 12 unit as it was too buggy and had a mind of its own at times. They sent me an android 10 unit to replace it. I got it installed yesterday and now I am having trouble with the time its supposedly pulling from the network. It seems to be on eastern time instead of central time. Any insights on how to fix this. Yes I can shut off the time and date from the network but then I have to manually update. (I know first world problems) But it should be able to pull the network time from my phone and or wifi when its connected but doesn't.

Also does anyone have the toyota boot logo. I am sure I can google and find one but I am currently at work and can't download stuff like that on the work computers. On the android 12 they had an APK that you could just install that loaded all of them for you to choose but the 10 doesn't seem to have that.

    TIA

I'm really considering buying this HU from Joying's website. I'm choosing the "Newest After-Market 9 Inch Android Car Radio For Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 Apple CarPlay" SKU:JY-TZ187N4. I know I want the AR cameras, TPMS (I assume this will display readings?) I am unsure of what the other accessories would do, if anyone can help me.
    1. Not sure what to choose between 4GB+64GB & 8GB+128GB options.
    2. What would the OBD2 option do? Do I need it?
    3. Also if anyone can confirm the cameras will act as a dashcam and record. I have VIOFO A119 V3 for the front and would replace with joying's cameras.
