I have the new 9” and added the USB cables like you did yesterday. Worked out well (hardest part was taking off the glovebox but managed without breaking anything) - thanks!

Are most people with the 9” not using a bracket? I couldn’t get the entune one to fit so the joying unit just hangs from the clips on the back of the screen. Is there a DIY/aftermarket bracket one can use to support the unit and ease the stress on the screen?

Putting the dampner back on can be a pain. A pick hook helps. I did not use the stock bracket, some have and there is a write up in this thread on customizing it to work.
Like you and many others, mine hangs with the clips. Works just fine and it's been tested on fire service roads and all the pot holes on our city streets.

Mine is also hanging on the clips, fine on fire roads, etc. -- but still not the solution I would prefer. Would much rather have a solid mounting system.

Mine is just in the clips.

Mine's a little more secure, as I have the Bird Dawg Tech Deck which kind of supports it and locks it in as well.

My internal and external mics that it came with are so terrible. Has anyone had any luck getting better input from these?

Somewhere back in this thread an external mic is talked about. The external mic that came with my Joying works fine, have never tried the internal one.

Anyone have input on how well it displays album art from audio streaming services? Whether direct Bluetooth or Android Auto/Apple carplay? If I were to drop money on it, small user experience stuff like that matters.

One datapoint only, and YMMV, but it displays album art reliably via Apple CarPlay (bluetooth connected) w/ my iPhone 12 running both iOS 16 and now iOS17.x. The album art is large, clear, and full-resolution. (No pixelation or wrong-aspect-ratio issues.)

Note that this was not for streaming services. It was/is for .ALAC (lossless) tracks I purchased directly via Bandcamp, then downloaded manually to my Mac computer, then added them to my iTunes library on my Mac computer, then sync'ed them to the iPhone using the normal Mac <--> iPhone sync function in iTunes.

Anybody using this thing with a 4 or 5 channel amp? If so, how are the pre-outs and how's the sound quality when amped? Does the EQ let you do any kind if time alignment?

I've got a Pioneer double DIN at the moment...just one of the digital media players...and it's got 4v pre-outs for the front, rear, and sub. Works really well when amped, but I'm really wanting something with Android Auto and a legit screen.

Looks like there are 4 RCA out + SW. See the Joying web site for more.

Thanks for the info @GilbertOz and @rnish! I have a working Entune Touch, does the job but this would be a nice creature comfort upgrade.

I'm using it with a JL Audio HD-series 4-channel amp, but currently only using 2 channels. Door speakers are cross-over'ed (mid + tweet), with a separate sub-only channel for the JL 13" sub. It sounds "very good" to me but that is highly subjective as I have not heard many car stereo setups lately to compare to.

Hey all, does anyone have the "newest" 10.1 unit? Can you post pictures/generally how do you like it? I'm really only looking for a unit to integrate carplay, look good, and not much else

Has anyone been able to read TPMS via the Joying OBD2 adapter? I installed Torque Pro and don't see any TPMS PIDs under Manage PIDs and it doesn't pick any up by default. Any suggestions? I am willing to buy a different OBD2 adapter if needed but need advice on which one. Thanks!

Mine works with the supplied adapter.

Did you pair the OBD2 adapter to the headunit?
It needs to be paired same as you'd pair bluetooth headphones to a phone.

Yes, the adapter is paired. Torque reads all the other data. Just can't locate the TPMS info. Where did you find it and are you using Torque or a different software?

Oh, I missed that you were specifically asking about TPMS. I'm not sure, I haven't checked.

Just got my first 2nd gen tacoma. It has factory radio and I found this article and am overwhelmed. Are the joying units reliable, the reviews on Amazon aren't to great. Thanks in advance.
