Got my 9" in today the the factory backup camera doesn't come on. 2015 Double cab. Steering controls work just seems the backup camera didn't work. I did order the front and rear cameras when I got it. Would they have sent me a harness without factory backup because of that?

Figured it out. @secondgear on page 73 CVBS N

Just installed the 11.6 unit in my XRunner today. It's nice but has been a pain in the ass to get working right and I just found out that it's still not there.

Found that 4 wires on the Joying harness were pinned in the wrong spot and I had to repin then into the right spot. This is per the wiring diagram sticker for the plug on the unit itself. I couldn't get the SWCs working and found the plug was wired wrong after fighting with the damn thing for a good 2 hours.

So got everything working finally and just discovered that when I turn on the headlights, the damn thing thinks it's in reverse! Turns off the music and tries to tap into the camera feed which I don't have hooked up yet since I have the factory mirror cam. So now I have to rip the damn thing out again to try and figure out why it's doing that and see if I can fix it.

Love the big screen. Hate that I can't find where to turn off Android Auto, which I hate. I just want maps and Pandora, without Android Auto. Tried killing it on my phone but couldn't find a setting for that.

Just annoyed with the head unit so far. Over priced at $500+ for what was supposed to be plug and play. Certainly not in my case.

Found the issue with the headlights triggering the revers camera function on the head unit. More incorrect wiring from the Joying harness. Fortunately, I only had to repin one wire this time. It's mostly working the way I want now.

Has anyone with a newer unit added a inclinometer app onto the Joying unit?

Just got mine in. Won’t get to install it until the new year when I have some time but I’ll be sure to leave some feedback on it here when I’m done.
Got the 9”(which is a big enough screen for my liking) plus my brain needs the knob for immediate mute of sound when needed. Very happy with the bezel. Not sure how the gloss finish will affect vision with any glare but looks nice overall.

i've been running it I think a year and a half now? No complaints with it overall, occasionally it will freeze up and need a hard reset, or the music/audio will clip out for a couple secs here and there but it's not frequent at all.

Connects pretty seamlessly for the most part, occasionally gives me a little grief but nothing turning it off and on again won't solve. Aside from music/navigation I haven't used it for much else though. The included mic for calls/bluetooth doesn't seem to be the best but it's manageable for my needs.

haven't had any issues with the glare on the bezel as questioned above.

I would miss Sirius XM. But the two finger volume control is a nice work around from no knob. I'm also wanting the biggest screen for Gaia nav.

I’ve had mine for almost a year now and I’m happy with it. I bought it mainly for ApplePlay integration and that works seamlessly for me (wireless) as well as terrestrial radio. I thought I would miss not having XM but I don’t. I do occasionally have an issue where I have to reset the date/time but that’s it. Went down the rabbit hole of trying to integrate the factory rear camera but I gave up.

all-in-all, I’d buy it again. No regrets but YMMV

Got mine (9'' with knob) since 7 months and same than TacoTyusday besides couple of restart (2 or 3 in 7 months) no issue at all.

The embedded mic (not the ugly one with a cable that you can plug) is not great at all: I had my wife on a call ... she yelled and hanged up :D:D:D So not successful attempt :D :D :D . I am now taking my calls on speaker with the phone. I will probably look at mounting the wired mic from the unit up to close by the rear mirror like 1 of the TW member did in the chat topic (around page 70ish).

Overall, I like a lot this unit. The battery of my phone is more in use as I am listening music and using navigation via the phone. The antenna connection for the local radio is not working great. I can listen to the radio but you see a quality difference in the sound and on the reception where you are from the local broadcast antennas. Joying recommend to use their plugin receivers but the only thing I see is 5Gs receivers that I do not need. Anyhow, this is not a show stopper for me because I am using mostly my phone and Siri to change the type of music.

    I recommend highly.

For those with the OEM backup camera display in the mirror, do you still need to do the special wire configuration to get it to work on the head unit or does the newest wiring harness accommodate for this? Also, does the rear Joying camera secure in the tailgate where the OEM camera is if you wanted to replace it? I've seen this asked a couple times but no response. Thanks.

I’ve had mine for a year, and am very pleased. No issues at all; the built in mic does kinda suck, but it’s not actually the mic, it’s the case rattling and the mic picking it up

I use it solely for CarPlay, but it just works, no crashing or anything

Not sure about mirror display but No the joying does not go in the same place. It's made to mount on the bumper. I kept my oem backup and added the backup cam I got from them as a third camera in the back window of my truck to watch the bed if carrying anything. I hooked it up to the video in port on the back of the radio and I can view it in the right side mirror view. I also briefly had a third party app that left me view it but the firmware update blew that away.

Looks like they pulled the dvr camera from their site. Not available on Amazon either.

I swapped my mic out and it made a world of difference. I used one that was listed in this thread earlier.

Got a picture of how and where exactly you mounted it?
