Does anyone know which wires on which harness get tapped into to get the rearview mirror backup camera displayed on the Joying unit? I know which wire is needed under the glove box but I'm not sure about the harness behind the radio.

Do you mean the reverse signal wire or the actual video signal?

The video signal wires. I believe the reverse signal wire is the one I tap under the glove box.

I'm surprised there isn't some sort of adaptive harness created for the 2012-2015 Tacomas with the rearview backup camera in the mirror.

No but I just used double sided tape on my back truck windows. I ran the wires up the driver side column and under the head liner to the back. Rear camera in the tailgate latch I kept as the backup camera.

On the inside or off the can or did you run it outside?

Is it feasible to swap out the tailgate camera for a more high def lens? Is it super challenging to do so?

Mine is the same way. Look close and its the same as yours. Ive never tried peeling that off. It looks good how it is so im not going to risk messing it up. I keep a clean microfiber in my center console and occasionally wipe the screen with it.

Inside drivers side back windows. Tailgate camera swap would be very easy if you get plug and play. If you get one that doesn't use factory wire then you'd have to run a wire to the front. I replaced my tailgate handle and camera in about 10 min when I put the locking handle on.

Has anyone had an issue with the Android Auto map not auto switching between Day and Night mode? I've fooled with different settings but I can't get it to do this automatically. Am I missing something on the 2.5 Gen Tacoma configuration?

Does this allow you to use SiriusXM again?

I don't think it does. It just allows you to plug in the antenna. You would need a sirius module. I just did the streaming subscription and have the app on my phone. When car play connects it shows Sirius on the screen.

    Little this, Little that.
The clock and timezones settings need to be correct for where you live. Then just set the the time for when you wanna switch from Day to Night. This all done in the Joying system settings. This is what I had to do several times.

Same question here. Got the front camera from Joying and using the OEM rear. Massive difference. A plug and play solution for the rear would be awesome if anyone can recommend one.

I haven’t installed my unit yet but just asking anyway, what is the issue with the plug and play harness from joying that retains the factory functionality of the reverse camera?

Nothing. It's comparabme to a TV that had SD resolution when the head unit is HD. A better camera would give you an HD resolution to the head unit

    Ahhhhh makes sense.
Any opinion or feedback on the quality of the front camera function?

Works for me. Great resolution and I have it set to record to the SD card. Would love a similar rear camera that just goes in place of the OEM camera in the tailgate handle.
