Has anyone had any luck buying a replacement key off Ebay or Amazon and having it cut, and programming it themselves? It seems like I see people saying they programmed it themselves and others insist it needs to be done at the dealer or a locksmith.

I bought a replacement factory keyless entry fob a while back and was able to program that myself, just curious as to replacement keys.

You can program a key fob with no extra tools required.

You will need Tech Stream and a Usb to OBDII Adapter. You can buy both off Amazon for around 30 Dollars.

I purchased a blank key from Amazon, had it cut at a locksmith, and programmed it myself using Techstream.
