I’m sourcing a used set of LCA’s so I can do a Whiteline bushing rebuild and have them on hand and ready to go for install day and found some from a 2nd gen. My alignment tech says mine are toast and they can’t finish the alignment I asked for with 4+ degrees of caster to help fit my newly installed KO3 34’s even after an aggressive CMC. Still rubs on the firewall.

I’ve read that the only difference in LCA’s between gen 2 & 3 is the rear bushing and hardware is different. If I install Whiteline bushings spec’d for 3rd gen, can I reuse my cam bolts? I want to make sure they’ll work together and don’t want to have to source any other parts while I’m in the middle of trying to install these refreshed lower arms.

The eccentrics/cam bolts are likely fused to the bushings if the tech is calling them. Which in cali is not typical.

Personally I think its too much risk for too little gain. Why not refresh your existing arms?

Tech was using a pry bar and said they’re toast. They didn’t touch cam adjusters at all. I’ve had this vehicle for the last 15k miles but it was lifted before I got it and I had not idea the bushings were bad enough for the alignment tech to say it’s a no-go.

Anyone have experience with rebuilding 2nd gen LCA’s for their 3rd gen?
