How many miles, and what brand and stage I that clutch? The wear pattern is oddly tapered.

I haven't got the trans back up since I was taking my sweet ass time doing this and I'm currently waiting for a rear main seal- but, I did mount the bearing and it does seem pretty sturdy once the bracket is tightened down

I was right around 60k on this one, i wasn't exactly easy on this clutch to say the least so i feel like it held up alright for what i put it thru.... This one was a urd stg 3, i hope the fx250 im putting in keeps up just as good !

@Torspd this was 60k on a urd stg 3 clutch. I do agree the wear seems a bit odd, any ideas? The other weird thing was that I had tons of black soot/dust caked up all inside the pressure plate. I’m thinking it came from the clutch material? I also had my URD hydrobearing leaking inside the bellhousing so I’m think that spilled brake fluid had something to do with it. Here’s a couple more pics for reference

LOTS of clutch material, dust, and break fluid.

The wear suggests uneven clamping. Possibly by uneven TOB interaction. Possibly by untrue disk and or pressure plate.

Just a hypothesis, but I believe that then Clutchmasters will perform better.

What is the torque rating of the FX250? As well as how much did that cost? Was it just the disk or disk and pressure plate?

@Torspd check this link out http://www.clutchmasters.com/2005-2015-4-0l-2wd-4wd/

I got mine as part of the GB going on in this thread, it included the pressure plate and clutch disk. not 100% on the torque rating of the fx250 I'll have to email and ask them, but from what I remember when i spoke to clutchmasters it sounded like this one was just right for me..

finally got to drive this thing and yep, 100% better in every way. no more squeal, no more rattling sitting in neutral and having to press the clutch 2-3 times to get it to stop. everything is so much quieter now. I think i got the pedal adjusted to how i want it. that's kind of a pain in the ass.

also, got to get my fj case shifter bent to fit in current hole for the cup holders. should get that done this next week.

I think Clutch Masters made the FX250 for @garciav. Not a typical clutch offering they have for these trucks. But yeah never hurts to give Clutch Masters a ring, bunch of super helpful easy to chat with guys who can get you pointed in the right direction with the proper clutch for your needs!

That's awesome. Yeah the pedal adjustment is a bit tricky but not overly complicated. Took me a few tries to figure out the way we needed to adjust it to get it where I wanted it. Also isn't in the easiest location to access!

I just now have a little chirping on my 2011 with 61K. :annoyed:
I’m in on the next GB.

Yeah location was the biggest ordeal. I figured out direction first time. And figuring out what needs to turn and doesn’t was dumb for the most part. Think it it was easier to access would be no issue

What do you guys mean by pedal adjustment? What does this kit allow you to adjust? Is it possible to reduce the clutch travel/engagement?

My clutch is in, waiting for the throw out bearing to come in, will be getting the parts installed next week.

No. It's pre set with the spacer/sleeve that goes on the quill. From what I understand.
