Yeah, the quill is removed as part of that kit.

For the clutch master kit you don’t have to remove the quill. Look at the install pics it’s still there.

Well I didn't realize some of you supercharged guys are making that kind of power, that's awesome! Then yeah like garciav mentioned, if you want something in-between the FX100 and FX300, the FX250 is a good option. I'm sure if Clutch Masters hears from a few of you guys that are making significantly more power over stock they'll get those in between options added to their website. I'll also just follow up with Clutch Masters and let them know anyway that it might be something they just add to the website.

The quill is retained with the Clutch Masters' kit. For those guys out there that have the URD hydro setup that have cut the quill, from everything I've shown Clutch Masters they are still confident their setup will work because there is just enough left of the quill to register the spacer around the center of the input shaft and then the bearing housing gets bolted to the case so everything is still held in there solid.

For you guys who have the PDM steel sleeve kit, hopefully you put a little bit of grease in there and it should be no issue to slide off. I know it's a fairly tight fit but I didn't see anything about it being a fit so tight anyone needed to hammer it on or anything so hopefully with a little love it should slide off. Maybe need to get a little pry bar on it from the inspection hole on the side.

I was thinking of possible a 2/3 jaw puller if I could find one that reached.

I know when I installed mine 6 years ago the instructions at the time said to hammer it on with a block of wood or something that doesnt our hammer face onto the sleeve itself

Tried to order yesterday but their
Keep me posted on what you decide. I'm going with the hydro bearing and thinking of a lightweight steel flywheel from them (not sure if they have one for our application) but probably going with a spec stage 2+ clutch. Had 3 seconds of nothing on a 3-4 shift WOT run going uphill on a backroad highway a few days ago so my stock clutches days are numbered.

Hey BillDaCat, Kevin or Luis are solid guys to chat with at Clutch Masters!

I know they have made flywheels for the Tacoma in the past as that was something I asked them about possibly getting a new flywheel for my FJ when I installed the clutch. I was actually thinking something slightly heavier then factory since I've read that it helps with wheeling but in the end just decided to keep the factory flywheel.

Definitely a lot of options for clutches out there, but I know Clutch Masters was offering a discount on the clutch setup as well with the purchase of the hydro bearing kit so that might be something to consider.

It's not too late, I'll shoot you a PM now!

    Awesome!

Not sure about the R155, but I know they do have a kit for the R154 transmissions, not sure how similar those two transmissions are though as I have no experience with the R155.

Just sent you a PM bruciep!
