Just a note on this. The rev hang is a tuning issue and it has been conquered. Thank you @HPTuners

In my experience, the rev hang problem was due to two things. The first was tuning-related, conquered by @HPTuners and @JustDSM. The second was clutch accumulator-related, conquered by the Accumulater Delete Mod (ADM). Maybe upgrading the internal slave will make things even better?

    That's the hope!

I removed that accumulator POS years ago. The rev hang persisted. Throttle cracker revisions in VCM Editor have finally killed it.

Yeah since it's still a full face sprung disk the pedal should be very comfortable still and easy to modulate without a super harsh engagement like you start to get with the puck clutches.

Yeah I've been aware that the rev hang was associated with the tuning as well but I have noticed a bit of an improvement with deleting the clutch fluid accumulator (which the Clutch Master kit gets rid of). After driving the rig for a bit I do still notice that there is a bit of rev hang still but sadly HPTuners has yet to release the capabilities of tuning the FJ so I'm stuck with it until they do.

Would be great if the R154 kit worked in the R155 trans as well! I was messaging @whatstcp about this and if you guys can confirm fitment in the R155 trans then maybe we can chat with Clutch Masters about doing a group buy for that kit since there seems to be some interest there!

Also just an update for everyone else patiently waiting on the kit for the RA60, I stopped by Clutch Masters today and they said they have all the pieces machined and anodized that they needed for that kit. They already have the actual slave cylinders and bearings in stock since they are used in a few other applications, but they needed to machine the specific parts that make them a bolt on affair for the RA trans. Also this group buy ended up being a lot bigger then myself or Clutch Masters thought it would be which is awesome but that just added a few days extra on to getting all the parts machined (as well as all of your oil caps!!). Sounds like all they need to do is anodize all the oil caps to everyones specific color choices. Thankfully that's something they do in house so it's pretty quick for them. I took a pic of the brackets and dust shields that had just been laser engraved while I was there. The anodizing on these looks incredible in person, it's a shame these parts get tucked away. They were experimenting with some colors so there are a few different shades of orange and red, the pic I took is of the orange. They said early next week they should have all the kits fully assembled with everyone's oil caps as well and will start shipping out ASAP.

I should note, @garciav got his kit as he was one of the first people to jump in on this. He was also running the URD Fix-U hydro kit and sent over a bunch of info and pics on that kit that I passed on to Clutch Masters so they could make a judgement call on whether they thought their kit would work with the snout cut off. When Clutch Masters wrapped up my kit they made a couple extra setups to have on hand and send out to a couple others willing to test it, so @garciav must have got one of the last kits they had in stock ready to go before this group buy happened. Everyone else's is coming soon!!

Why did I just find this now AFTER the GB is done. :annoyed:

Definitely going to consider going this route when I do go to replace my clutch in the sooner rather than later future. It sounds like URD isn't going to bring back their hydro bearing and I like the idea that this kit does not require you to cut off the quill if, for whatever reason I wanted to go back to a stock TOB or do the URD sleeve.

Now I just have to decide on a clutch and if doing the URD heavyweight flywheel is actually worth it or just something to spend more money on.

Haha I know, the colored brackets do look nice! The black is nice too, that's what's on my rig!
Sorry!!! That's the worse. I've had a few people message me now curious about the group buy, but in the end you gotta cut it off somewhere. Our main goal was to hit twenty people over the course of two weeks and we did that, but then that last weekend there was as a strong push and there ended up being 30 people who bought kits. It's possible I could help Clutch Masters organize another group buy but I can't promise that. This was so successful that it would maybe make sense to do it again. Since the kits were tested and ready to go though we wanted to get things out to people as quickly as possible.

Yeah I don't think URD is bringing back their hydro bearing setup. Even if they did, the CM kit is superior in every way IMO. As you said, the big thing of not having to cut your quill off should you ever want to go back to factory for some reason, not to mention the parts supplied by Clutch Masters are superior to most OE internal slave cylinders out there now (why they make parts of them out of plastic is beyond me).

From everything I've read, the URD heavyweight flywheel isn't really necessary. Spend that money on a tune from HPTuners and it will be far better money spent!

Also another update, got word from Clutch Masters that all the oil caps have been machined, anodized and laser engraved. They're finishing up putting all the kits together and sounds like kits should start shipping out middle of this week. Can you spot your oil cap!?
