Hello, I just got a 2014 Tacoma and it has the navigation feature. However the last time the maps got updated was in 2013. Is it just as simple as plugging the micro sd card into my computer or do I have to buy an updated sd card? Thanks you.

As far as I know you have to buy a new card from Toyota, they were around $400 not sure what they cost now.

Cool I saw a video of a guy who got one from Amazon but wanted to see if updating it with my computer would be possible but it doesn’t look that way. Thanks y’all!

If you try to alter the card and then insert it into the radio, you will get an error message.
I bought an update from my local dealer for a little more than $100 some time ago. I'm looking at buying another update so the roads and POI are updated.

I got tired of having to spend this kind of $ every 6 months for updated maps. I bought a gps with a 9” monitor with free map updates for life …. Less than $100..

I had no idea you needed to buy a new SD card for updated maps. I will scratch OEM Nav unit off of my wish list.

Well I think some require an updated CD but newer models it might be an SD card.
