Has anyone ever attempted to mount small side work lights of some kind to the side on the OEM roof rack on a 2nd gen. On the included picture I'm looking specifically and the taller section on the front and back to put some kind of small lights that will point towards the ground. All ideas are welcome.

Hey thanks but that doesn't really help. That is an aftermarket roof rack. I'm trying to utilize the OEM roof rack on the 2nd gen exactly like the one I pictured in my original post

Not sure factory roof rack has any real options. Could be wrong. Might consider Black Friday sales and get a different rack.

I did this, they work great.

No, OP, most people ditch the factory roof rack for something that is more functional and looks better. There isn't a COTS option for what you're asking.

You could get creative with maybe nut inserts and mount light weight pods to them . DD ss2 lights would match the squarish profile

That's kind of what I was thinking about trying. I've gotta see about removing one side and see what kind of space I have inside those areas. If I have the room I bet I could do some nut inserts and a grommet to run the wiring in and through the roof.

I would just run a piece of flat stock or 2020 v-slot u-bolted to the crossbars then mount to that.
