Throwing around the idea of going back to a 2nd gen from my 1st gen double cab 4x4. I love my truck but miss my 2nd gen. considering just trying to trade but might eventually sell if the price is right.

    Double cab
    Silver
    interior is a 9 out of 10
    4x4
    around 138k miles
    southern truck with no rust
Has a crack in windshield scratches and a few small dents
drivers side bedside could be re-painted but is not noticeable (Whoever sprayed the bed liner got overspray on bedside and they tried fixing it themseleves)
Has a color matched camper shell with sliding windows and screens also toolbox to go with
Has eibachs with 5100s on front and blocks in rear.

What do you think the value of my truck is?

Double Cab 4x4’s hold their value well. You can probably get upwards of $15k for that here in the Pacific Northwest, specifically California. Out in the South or Midwest probably under $10k.

Value ultimately relies on location. 4x4 trucks are gold here in California.

Thanks for the comments! I just felt the 2nd gen was a better daily driver and able to pull my trailer better for my boat. I live in the ozark mountains in AR and although the backroads and trails are nice in the 1st gen it just seems so rough and gutless on the road.

Dude, you're in the first gen section, what kind of answer do you think you'll get?!

For what it's worth, though, I did end up with a '17 4Runner to better tow my trailer. That's my daily driver now, but I sure as hell didn't get rid of my best gen!

I don't see the year of your truck. I got $12,900 for my 2004 prerunner with 93k miles when I sold it in 2015.

I have a 04 1st gen double cab and a 07 2nd gen double cab. I love the 1st gen but i like the 2nd even more. Motor is just as solid and I personally like the look the most out of all tacomas. Plus you get more room so its better for long trips

Yes we just had a baby and my 2nd gen when I had it just felt more solid for the longer trips. There’s plenty of room in this one that I have now but was just contemplating on having the 2nd gen again for better performance for my needs. My truck is paid for tho so that is another factor that may keep me in the 1st gen.
