I really had to think about it, I honestly have never paid much attention to which way it opened. 2011 DC, slides toward passenger's side.

Excited about the possibility of an automatic slider. BenWa, you said there's no cutting and hacking away at my truck to install it, I'm excited about that. How does the wiring run to the switch in the front?

From what BenWa says about the new access cab version he is developing, I think it is going to be a home run. His idea is a good one.:D

Nope, it will only require drilling a few small holes for mounting hardware. The wiring runs up the driver's side under the plastic door thresholds to wherever the user decides to mount the switch (can be easily mounted to one of the blank switch knock outs to the left of the steering column, or can be custom mounted in any number of other places on the dash, overhead console, or center console area).

The main hold up at this point is waiting for parts to be manufactured.

I had to check on my truck to see what direction it opens, I honestly never use it because of the difficulty involved in reaching it. However if I have a switch on my dash that allows me to open it.. Now we are talking. Yeah Im lazy like that. :D

I wonder how many of those who stated their windows slide open to the drivers side are original owners? Let us know if you are. If so, they would know if the window came that way from the factory. I am guessing there may be some aftermarket window replacements out there, like the ones that slide to the drivers side?

The drivers side votes seem to account for about 12% of the population -- I would think it's doubtful that there would be that many windows that have been replaced with aftermarkets.

I'm guessing it's just some weird random production switch up. I guess Toyota doesn't feel that it matters too much which way the window opens, so for whatever reason they didn't pay too much attention to which way they got installed.

I open my slider every time I drive now. I love having the back window open and the side windows just cracked a bit. You get a real nice gentle air flow from back to front. VERY NICE!
