I’ve been looking at the 12V kit for my 14 since I picked it up. Looks simple to install....did everyone mount their antenna in the top
Left as the videos show? Behind the A pillar with the wire?

Yes, I mounted the long range antenna at the top of a pillar. I removed some of the plastic moulding so the long range antenna would lay flat. I also mounted the cell phone module antenna in the a pillar.

Looking for input from those who have the Accessorides and 12v kits, when you unlock/lock your doors does the horn go off or the chimer? What about when you remote start it? Please indicate which year truck you have

12V system in my 2015. No chime From the truck when you lock or unlock; but there is a chime/beep from your remote that you hear. Same on startup, no truck sound but the remote will play a little jingle and then beep three times on startup to confirm it started; if not three beeps it didn’t start cause wasn’t in range or not setup correctly.

When you lock and unlock, your daily running lights flash like they would normally would with the OeM remote, you just done get that little sound from the truck

the current 12v deal goes through the end of the month right? I'm 99% on it but just checking before hitting the button. does anyone see any downside or con to the 12v system vs the accessorides ? or other ? I guess the horn honk or chirp is not available throuhg `12v it seems. that's something i've always been kinda upset my tacoma didn't have, but i guess i've never had it so oh well. missed out on that moerse key beep mod box. with the accessorides one that chirp or honks, do you have to tap into the horn? and if so if you didn't have the factory beep/honk would it even work or did that have to be in place before hand ?

TLDR: does any remote start system offer the honk/chirp mechanism for those of us without the beep/honk on lock/unlock from factory? and also is there any downside/con to the 12v system vs the accessorides or others? thank you!

Accessorides told me their system will honk the horn when you remote start, I asked for more detail when you lock/unlock and I'll post once they respond.

Awesome thank u! I think theirs is “mostly” plug and play and the 12volt system is totally plug and play right ? Can u add the smart phone module that everyone is buying on Amazon for less for both systems or just the 12volt one? I’m assuming they use the same module for that feature ?
I guess having the honk would be nice for confirmation but also may not be totally necessary if extra cost or if it’s not plug and play.

Personally, if you're running the 12v kit, just use the two way remote. It's going to tell you if the vehicle started or locked/unlocked via the confirmation jingle. That's what my old Compustar setup did on my F150 before I switched to the Tacoma. If I could afford the $350 (is that right for the 12v kit right now? I thought there was a sale, but is that the sale price?) I'd get the 12v kit right now.

yeah i'm thinking that's the sale price. someone on here recently mentioned getting 19% off I think. @rayban1 can you confirm what you paid for the system?

Based on this review I think the Accessorides kit is 100% plug and play as well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-yBdS54-Z0

I've done lot's of research on both kits and I've contacted both companies as well, here are the big differences I noted. I haven't personally set my eyes on either kit, any feedback would be appreciated

The 12v solution module and keys come from Voxx Electronics. I don't know much about them but I'm assuming the module is rebranded a Compustar part. The guys at 12v said they could provide me a Compustar DC-3 module so it would work with the set of keys I want and the harness would be the same (they wouldn't provide the keys though). I think the 12v solutions comes with a remote start bypass switch built into the harness which is nice (can anyone confirm?)

The Accessorides kit is based off of the Compustar DC-3. I like the keys offered with this a lot more and with the module being a Compustar it gives you the flexibility of purchasing from a much larger selection of different keys at a later date. This also allows you to buy accessories made for the DC-3 such as their phone module or USB cord for changing settings on the module. The only real difference between this kit and buying a DC-3 from Bestbuy or Amazon is that they provide the plug and play harness. For some reason iDatalink/Compustar hasn't created a harness for our year of Tacomas but they did for a bunch of other Toyotas.

Here are the Accessorides 2 way keys. Their support email said we can use the promo code Tacoworld which will take $20 off the price and add free shipping.

@Accessorides is your kit for the 2nd gen 2005-2015 fully plug and play or does it still require some manual wiring ? Also for the horn honk on lock indicator does that work for all or just models that had the functionality from the factory? Example- my 2008 doesn’t honk or chime when locked/unlocked with my factory keyless entry Also are u running any specials on 2nd gen kits at the moment ?

Accessorides works with OEM key fob and the 12Vsolutions one replaces the OEM fob with theirs correct? Am I understanding those?
