Okay guys, I know this is an obscure question: Is there a way to install the plastic corner rear bumper end cap without removing the bumper? If you look at the pic below, you'll notice there are 2 little tabs on the actual bumper that the end cap slides into...I can't get it to fit because the end cap gets in the way of the bumper/tail light/tailgate/etc. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to do this without completely removing the bumper. The second pic is the passenger side, which is what I'm trying to replace.

Yes, I realize it took me more time to write up this post than it would've taken for me to just remove the rear bumper, but it rained all day here in GA and my driveway is wet. Also, my dog shits in the driveway :D

I have done it-when I installed my 3rd Gen damper for the tail gate. Lazy and it was cold. Used extensions to get all bolts out but that one on top towards front. I just pulled it off. Used a bit of JB weld when I put it back on. Lasted three+ years. Now I have STEEL. the picture is from las winter and as close as I have to just the corner-looks factory to me. Never has come off and doesn't move. This was my solution (as I didn't know that last bolt was up there... until I took matters into hand.) I don't think it comes off with the bumper on the truck...20210128_162347 (2).jpg

Actually taking the rear bumper off is sort of a pain with it's janky claptrap design, and is made even worse if any of the fasteners are corroded.

That said, I would think it's easier just to remove the tail light if that'll give you the extra clearance you need.
