Maybe it was cross threaded, and you broke it off. There's a similar situation on one of my hitch bolts. It just spins freely, and won't tighten or loosen. It pisses me off.

I think something along these lines happened. Idk what's holding it in there though. Will I just have to saw it off?

I'm not sure. I never bothered trying to get it out again. When the time comes, I'm going to cut it out with an angle grinder OR use a pickle fork wedged in there and try and back it out with my impact.

I posted a couple. Kinda hard to get a good picture of what I'm talking about though.

I took my pry bar and gave it a little push. Like 40 percent. Nothing though. I didn't wanna push any harder.

    A thing or two...
Remove the bolt to the left in the photo. It is holding in the cross member extension piece. With that removed it should be possible to get a wrench on the nut that broke loose.

Yes, that would work, but before removing that bolt peer into the frame and spray (with extension straw) the bolt thread with penatrating oil, then slowly back out the bolt alittle at a time, while adding more spray.

For rusted bolts, always work them back and forth. Even if it doesn't seem like it's moving at first, keep going back and forth. Eventually, it will start moving more and more. Even when it gets to the point where you're going 2 turns each way. Forward, reverse, forward...
