Havent posted in awhile and decided that i needed to get back into the taco community. Wife owns a jeep so this may help with nausea lol. Build is a 2006 toyota tacoma single cab long bed. Its been snailed at 6 psi of boost probably bump it up after im done with this.
    Front:
    05+ superduty 60
    5.38 gears
    Arb locker
    14" ori stx
    3 link with heims
    High steer
Might be forgetting some other stuff

    Rear:
4 link with ruff stuff trailing arms
    14 bolt
    Arb
    10 inch ori stx

Itll be fitted for 40's but i got a good deal on 38s so ill run those till then

Probably buy some foa bypasses later who knows

This is my progress so far
Axle is about finished( its farther along then the pic) next couple days the ifs is getting cut out
Completion goal date: may 1, 2021

Well got the axle all cleaned up. Got the truss on not fully welded, but half way there. Debating on cutting the tacks and taking it off to weld the inside. If i do ill probably do it after the three link.

The dana 60 35 spline is a strong beefy axle. Its a great axle, but damn is it a pain to get it ready for the 3 link.
Things needed to get it ready:
    Cutoff wheel
    Band saw
    Grinding wheels
Lots and lots of cut off wheels
Scarfing tip for oxy/act torch(not necessary but very helpful)
Plasma cutter(not necessary but very helpful)
    Music
And beer lots and lots of beers
Dont be dumb, wear a mask n95 or better.

Well got a big chunk done. Those arent the wheels and tires im running just mock up. No turning back now. Im taking the truss off and welding the inside so its ready to jump lol. Im narrowing the axle 5 inches to match the 14 bolt wms.

while you have plenty of clearance, wouldn't be a bad idea to gusset the motor mounts. 05-06 had ungusseted motor mounts.

Oh I thought you were just going to boost the 4 cylinder a bit more lol in that case forget it since they're coming off probably. Looks like a great build and subscribed for more

    Thanks.
I dont know for sure yet, i really like the 4banger boosted. Its fun and took a lot of work. I probably check them out and possibly gusset them. Really it depends on how it drives once its done. It had 33 with 4.88 now im going 38 with 5.38 so we will see.

If you don't want to go the route of ordering custom length axle shafts, the long side inner shafts on 78-79 Ford D60s (which I believe are the shortest D60 long side inner shafts) measure ~4.5" shorter than the 05+ super duty shafts. Then if you were to break that axle, getting a new one will be much easier.

Yeah i saw those, chromo a plus. They got a deal on summit for full shafts with 1550 u joints for 150 that i ordered already. Axle shaft company in boise said they could cut it down qnd spline two shafts for 130 so ill have a spare. Ill have to measure them out and if it works out, once i blow one up ill order that one for a spare

Im calculating around 5" of cut off. Ill have to run .25" spacers for the high steer with the wheels i have. and that should match the 14 bolt wms width

Well got the inner c cut off and the axle narrowed. Still pressing on trying to get it done in two weeks.

The inner c was a bastard. Still havent got the axle tube out. Taking it to a buddies to machine it out.

My rear 4 link is showing up tomorrow. Once i get the front done then its the rear.

    Regear

    than the flatbed

I used a plasma and blasted out one side with some relief cuts and a 20ton press and got them out. It was a huge pop though

Well finally got it done minus the welding of the inner c.
It was a stubborn bastard and it did not want to go back to its home but some heat and a hammer i taught it a lesson.
If i would do it again which i probably will cut the tube an inch from where you want it then take the c and the cutoff tube and slap it in the lathe and back cut the weld off
After that put a bevel on it.
    Next time maybe lol
The axle is 5 inches narrower roughly 2 inches wider then stock but will work well with the 14 bolt.
Working on the crossmember now so i can finish cutting the ifs off then its link time

Got the inner c back on and welded.
Truss fully welded inside and out.
    Partially welded on the axle
Frame stiffener on and 75 % welded
