I have a 2015 sr5 package Tacoma. My driver seat does not lock into place after adjusting forward or back. It takes a shaking of the seat to insure that it is fully locked into place.

I have been to the dealer 4 times and the dealer says the seat is perfectly fine. I disagree. I have tested one other Tacoma with SR5 seats and it did not need this extra shaking to ensure it is locked. Heck my passenger seat works flawlessly.

I'm curious to know if anyone else's seat does this.

Do you adjust your seat while sitting in it or before sitting? My seat hardly ever fully locks if I am not sitting in it. It usually won't lock until I actually sit in it and then it locks fully into place. Sometimes it takes a little bounce or shake of the seat.

I've done both. It's takes the same bounce/shake to lock it weather I'm in the seat or not.

Sounds like your seat does the same as mine.

Are there any others who's seat does this? Is this how they all are?

I've driven several Toyotas with manual seats and they've all done it time to time. Including a 1st gen Tacoma and 3rd gen 4Runner.

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as it makes a positive lock you are all good. It's most likely just between a position setting, where a slight nudge forward or back sets it right.

I've never driven a vehicle with manual seats that didn't require a shimmy of the ass to lock into place. Perfectly normal IMO.

The only reason I'm concerned about this is because my girlfriend was unable to get that extra shimmy to lock it. So I had to do it for her. I can sit in the seat, slam it as hard as I can with my 240lb ass and it will still require an additional shimmy to lock up one side.
