I wouldn't trust em while wheeling by looking at the way they bolt on tbh.

I'm trying to figure out what's going on in the last photo. The bolt doesn't appear to actually be going through any metal?

Few reasons. First one being...you really think this little nut that doesn't even have full contact with the metal isn't gonna potentially pop out or move if jarred hard like falling down on to a rock ?uploadfromtaptalk1426006444737.jpg

    Secondly
This C-Clamp can also move along the frame rails and if bolts ever loosened up or even snapped(small bolts) the sliders could kick up if truck comes down on a rock.

Looks like everytime you took a hit to the sliders it would put vertical stress on the bottom bolts of the clamp. Which would eventually lead to stretching the bolts. But I don't know, I'm not an engineer. Makes sense in my mind though.

They're just poorly design TBH and judging by the stringy welds.. You arent a welder by trade uploadfromtaptalk1426007109047.jpg

There will be two of them. The hardware holding the clamps is 1/2-13 grade 8 hardware and each of those silver clamps are rated to 12,000 lbs of force, there will be 2 on the regular cab and at least 4 on the access/double cab per side. The clamps are actually used in the structural field, holding together I beams for huge buildings.

How strong the hardware is doesn't have anything to do with the design... But if you want to have peoples cabs getting sliders bent into em then that's.your conscious lol.

I will not be doing the welding for production, I did them for prototyping. The unsupported section will be 2 x 3 rectangle tube and I've run multiple stress calcs, should be just fine. All sliders on the market have the similar design with the unsupported leg at the end.

All sliders did have the unsupported end... Until people like BAMF got pictures from people bending the end like someone local did in our wheeling group.

Now they all have supports on the end.

When you ran your calculations did you consider impact loading?

Yes. With the original calcs when using just standard 2" sq tube like most sliders out there the moment arm out on the end failed terribly. When I changed to the 2 x 3 rect tube they were fine.

Another thing. Your gussets = bad positioning. The gussets shouldn't be in the center of the tubing.

Understood. Again, PROTOTYPE. Still finalizing tube placement, gusset placement, flange hole placement, what holes will get used for hardware, what holes can't get used due to brake line interference on driver side. The teaser photo was simply showing that sliders supported truck, with my poor welds (I am not a welder I admit but can get by when mocking stuff up and have a guy that is a welder that'll be doing them for me) and to just show people that I am still working on them and not just saying I am doing it with no results...

Give the guy a break people. If you don't like them don't buy them. At least he is taking the criticism positively.

It's not about not liking them. Just addressing concerns. Would hate to see him sell a set to someone and they fail causing damage to the customers truck and it turning into a lawsuit.
