So ive been saving for a newer tacoma
I got a 4 cylinder tacoma rn. Hardly any power:/ but my brother has 2013 trd sport v6 tacoma
His steeringwheel is nice and i love it
Has the stock touch screen double din thing

    My question is
Is it possible to take that steering wheel and its wiring harness and the steroe off of a totaled tacoma
And stick it into one that is a different year?

I've looked into switching wheels before and I'm 99.9% sure you can. I also don't see why you couldn't swap out the stereo as well. They look nice and now I kinda wanna do it as well.

I have a 2013 and if you go for it go with a 2015 if you can. The standard entune non jbl radio would be a better choice. there is an adaptor you can get off ebay that will allow you to stream your phone to the screen. In addition you can change the screen with custom images. I was debating doing this but if I switch I will probably go with an aftermarket.

For the wheel the 2015+ can be swapped out (of if you find the right wheel) to be all black instead of silver. There is another thread discussing all the black out parts for 2012-2105 I believe.

Your topic is exactly what I was just researching on-line! I have a 2007 that I have been looking to upgrade to the 2015 model but thought why not just find the radio/steering wheel on a 2015 to retrofit to my 2007.
Instead of paying $25k+ for a 2015...purchase the radio kit! I hope this can be done.

Anything is possible given unlimited funds, materials and time--undoubtedly you would need, in addition to the steering wheel and head unit, either elements of the newer harness or some custom wiring...

    stock for now
I have an 08 and was also looking, I will probably also do the aftermarket radio, but would like the steering wheel controls, I got used to having them with my wife's Rav4, I also like her backup camera, I think I would also like the front emblem camera as well, I often have to park in a public parking garage on nights I have class. I'm always afraid that the back end is hanging too far out into the lane.

Did you have to get a new harness?

you have to replace the spiral cable if you don't have steering wheel control for one w/controls
