Hey, guys. My lucky 15 yr old daughter just received a 2012 V6 4Dr 4x4 Tacoma from her Grandma. Grandma took good care of it under the hood but outside not so much. The little 16" steel (?) wheels are rusted and the tires are cracking. I picked up a set of 2017 4Runner wheels with brand new tires. Went to put them on and the newer wheels are much thicker than the old wheels. Crazy how thin those wheels are. The studs are not long enough to mount these wheels.
What are my options? I wasn't prepared to tear it all down today to try to figure it out. Can I take off the rotors and knock the old studs out and replace them? Do I have to change out the hubs? Is there a spacer with longer studs that can be used? This looks like the right place to find the answer. Thank yall very much in advance.

Those new wheels need the shoulder type lug nuts. The old steel wheels use the taper acorn style. The studs won't need to be replaced. I was able to put those wheels on with the new lug nuts when I switched from steel wheels to mags.
