if you made them alittle lower and round on the tops maybe with a wider base and two bolts on each side of the base they would be nice

yah, rounding the corners and making it lower is easy.

I only used one bolt on each side just cuz i used what i had in the garage so i only had two that matched.

i'll get some more pics so you can see what the whole thing looks like

okay, changed the mounting plate a bit. made it lower and with two bolts.





i also rounded the top and bottom corners for all u safety freaks

i need one. how much for something identical to your prototype but with only one light tab on the passenger side?

Any chance you are planning on making the next Arizona GTG? (looking like the last weekend in January so far)?

but yah i can do 1 3/4 for ya no problem. I'll have to see what the price difference is, but i doubt it would be very much.

I agree, the lower profile looks way better! Keep us posted on the progress and final looking product! Maybe even with some light like you were thinking, so we can see how that looks. Props for initiative

But would you guys want me to grind down all my welds? or can i just leave it raw.....they look fine IMO, like in that last set of pictures i posted.

also, for the final product i'm probly ganna bump it up to 1.5" diameter. the prototype is just 1"

EDIT: ohh and if anyone is interested I can also do a different design that could be used as cross bars for a roof rack, except it would stay in the bed. for mounting a roof basket, ski/snowboard holder, roof sled thing? if there is anyone who wants one.

and if anyone wants one I can duplicate my bed basket as well
