Whats a good price for a used 2nd gen tacoma 6 foot bed cap? I know that some people have struck gold with $150 caps but I am trying to find a good maximum price to find one under. Any ideas?

I’m not too sure about used, but to give you a point of reference, new ones from the big companies like ARE and Leer are going for $3,500-$4,000+ right now depending on what options you choose. I’ve been waiting for my ARE cap for over 5 months now. So factor in the convenience of not having to wait as well. Really depends on how much you want it.

Hopefully that helps put used pricing in perspective for you. It would certainly depend a lot on the condition of the cap.

OP, look around in FB marketplace for used caps. Some have options you look for.. if not, you can add them yourself such as led, rack, etc.

I don’t think the cap dealers have caps for older models anymore.. they deal with new caps for this generation… I mean 2016 and up.

if you get new cap, it may look odd because the design has changed between 2nd and 3rd gens.

These days a used one in fair condition is at least $1,000

I paid $450 for mine from a local new/used cap dealer. It’s a mid rise Jeraco with sliding side windows as the only option, but it suits my needs perfectly. The paint isn’t perfect, but it’s not a problem either.
