    Hi,

I'm trying to get some help with my 2006 Tacoma frame rust issue. My truck was purchased new at Crestmont Toyota in New Jersey. It was in New Jersey up until 2012. The truck is now located in Charleston, SC. I've had the dealer here look at it. The Southeast rep said there's nothing they can do for me. The whole frame looks bad. The attached picture is of the driver side catalytic converter area.

Basically a big F%#K YOU from Toyota!

Saw the rust issues here. Went to my local after my first call with corp. made 2 more phone calls before someone finally admitted they knew about the e0d campaign & said NY would be near the last area to approve the CRC tx.

I just found 3 large holes in my 2006 4dr tacoma. Inside the frame on the driver side cat there is a 4x5"+ hole. Directly under that hole is a 1x3" on the bottom of the frame. I also found another by the passenger side cat on the inside of the frame that is about 1x3". Failed my inspection and will be getting a frame in a month and a half. Dealer said the truck was "safe" to drive, I insisted on a loaner until it is fixed. Don't want to risk anything with my kids. Truck has always been in NJ.

My 05 taco went in for service recall when I went back to get it told me frame needed to be replaced. Still drivable. I bought this one after my 2000 got bought back.

Can anyone who had this done tell me what else did they replace for you at no charge.
The dealer who has my car s#*ks and I don't trust them

I would recommend you get everything documented as the LSC under E0D only covers 2005-2008 and obviously the issue isn't limited to just those model years.

Mine just came back and the frame passed the inspection so after media blasting it they applied the undercoating to it. Fingers crossed this is the last I have to worry about though next week i'm putting it up on the lift and taking pictures of their work so if it fails or whatever I have pictures to document their work.

This is a very frustrating issue.

AND Now we have to deal with the leaf spring recall...

I thought you meant it was a 2009, but I got it. You bought it in 2009 and it is a 2005.

It should be covered by E0D

Mine is a 2006 and I just bought in 3 weeks ago and it was covered.

Have you created an account at the Toyota owners website? **I recommend this for everyone** (EDIT)

If not; get your registration as you will need your VIN and create an account. Then once you have added your vehicle, the recalls and Safety Campaigns are listed under Resources/ Safety Recalls & Safety Campaigns.

For the recall, I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, is it normal for the dealer to need 2 days to check the frame for rust? They then told me if its not included, they would coat it for free. If it is, they would need at least 6-8 weeks to replace the entire frame. Does anyone know about this? Does this sound right?

I have not received a letter yet, but I live in PA, and it is now listed on the owner site under my VIN.

I believe LSC stands for Limited Service Campaign, or something similar.

This just popped up on my Toyota Owners page for my vehicle in the last day or two. Is this popping up on everyone's or only if you are in one of the states listed? The reason I ask is, my truck is not registered in any of the states but spent the first 98k or so in one of them.

Called my dealer, they said bring it in and they will take a look at it and go from there.

That sounds about right. My frame was in good shape and the dealership; scraped the frame, inspected it and coated it with undercoating. The entire process took 4 days for my experience.
