2nd Gen tacoma plastic trim

Hey ya'll, so a buddy of mine who also owns a 2nd gen tacoma once mentioned that over time plastic trimming around the front grill becomes loose. And just about every time I'm washing my truck, I notice that there are certain pieces of plastic trim sticking out as if the clips that hold them in get loose? So I just pop the pieces back in until the next time I notice that they are loose again. Is this common with anyone elses tacoma? I know the plastics on the inside are rather cheap.

 

Has the grill surround been changed? Maybe it wasn’t put back together correctly.I would take the grill off and use a soldering iron and melt the plastic together if it comes apart again

 

It could be a possibility that the previous owner could have removed it. I'll do just that as soon as the weather warms up a bit here.

 

They are known to come loose, happens to the best of us. A new grill is cheap, or you could plastic weld the tabs back on.
