Does anyone else have this problem with their 2nd gen tacoma? I just installed new retrofit headlights 2 weeks ago and the side marker lights used to come on by itself with out the low beams on. But now when i turn my light cluster to just the side marker lights… my low beams come on with them when it’s not supposed to. I have checked all connections to my new lights, power an ground has been checked. But still can’t figure what would be the issue. If anyone has insight or solutions it would be appreciated. I even checked the 4 10amp fuses for the headlights an they all look good. Could it be my head light relay or is it something else?

Sounds like a wiring issue inside the retrofits. Did you build them? If so, time to do some sleuthing. If another vendor/seller built them maybe ask them, they may have more details on specifics.

That’s what i was kind of pinpointing it to or the controller itself, the retro lights are from teq customs. So i will have to email them tomorrow an ask what could be the issue an if they can send a controller to test. I checked everything over again, my headlight switch, fuse box under the dash, an even switched my headlight relay with a new one to no luck. Mahalos for your insight man will keep updating til i get it fixed! I’m just surprised no one else had this issue, or posted about it.

So i ruled out that it wasn’t my headlight wiring it self or the controller. Since i checked all my fuses an relays, last thing it could be is my headlight switch. Unless theirs some other fuse or relay that i haven’t checked. Time to go buy a headlight switch from oriellys an change it to see if that’s the issue..

If i hook my bone stock headlights back up and remove my retro’s completely, it still does the same thing. My low beams will still come on with my side marker lights, when it’s supposed to be side marker only mode. I have checked my tail fuse under the dash, checked my relay for headlights an fuses… only thing left that could be the problem is my headlight switch, or actual fuse box under the dash. But i’m not 100% certain..if anyone has else knows what it could be, i’m all ears

Just got enough time to install my new headlight switch but still no luck in fixing the issue. I’m at a stale mate to getting my side marker lights to come back on by it self ‍
