Sooo, I've read through multiple posts on regearing for 2nd Gen Tacomas. Many lack the clarification whether they are addressing 4cyl/6cyl, MT or Auto.

That said, which gears get me better mileage for average daily driver use with V6, DCSB, MT w/33s? I won't be offroading or crawling. Currently just lugging it around in a higher gear to save money. Would like a better balance between performance and mileage, or bring them closer to eachother.

I'm pretty sure I've ruled out 4:56 gears at this point, as I would lose my overdrive on my interstate driving.

Whatever stock gears are, I’m running them. Still 2800 rpm on the highway. Personally I’d gear down if I could snap my fingers and make it happen.

I’m on stock gearing with 33s and am at 2200 rpms at 70mph on the interstate...

    Not worth the money IMO

Are you trying to say some Tacomas came with different gearing from the factory?
