I'm still trying to source parts for the swap and being in Canada has been a struggle to get shipping up here. My goal is just to get it in the truck and running and then as things need replaced/upgraded do it then. Otherwise it will be in the shop for far longer than I want it and the motivation becomes an issue.

Well hoping it's nothing too major for me. Not being the first to do this swap makes it slightly easier haha

LSX engine mounts turned up finally. I've been looking all over BC for NP241 slip-yoke eliminator kits to no avail. Does anyone have any preferred company to get them from? I was looking at Offroad Designs kit.

That’s less than ideal. From what I can tell they seem to be all the same to a certain degree.

Well I have to do full cage, back half, and rear link setup as well, so you'll have some extra time.

    2" spacer lift, 285/70 R17's and a Softopper.
Wish I could find one of those right now at a reasonable price.

Made a bit of progress today. Had a buddy come around with a HIAB to move the frame and lift the cab off. It made life a lot easier haha.

Then while had the time I thought I might as well continue tearing the frame down. Engine/transmission/tcase all out as one assembly. Pulled the driveshafts and exhaust as well.
All that’s left is the suspension/ diff’s and frame wiring before the old frame gets chopped up.

Now that I have the engine out I took some measurements from the transmission mount to the engine mount on the Toyota and it measured approx 34". The Chevy engine mounts to the transmission mount measured approx 40". I was hoping to reuse that factory transmission cross member to simplify the swap but maybe now I won't be able to do that.

Yea it was wee bit cold at -7C/19F. We're entering a cold snap this week and temps are dropping down -20C/-2F in the day, I might not work on the truck as much haha.

I buckled down and finished cleaning up the front axle this morning. Hated it. I thought it would never end, but I’m so glad to be done haha I’ve got a box full of link brackets and such, but I’m on baby duty tomorrow so hopefully Christmas break I’ll get some work done.

If I could work in a slightly warmer environment that would be nice haha. Just the way she goes. I'm not sure yet how far back. I was going to set the engine in place before the cab goes on to see how it lines up with things and go from there. How far did you push yours back? I was thinking of driving down the week following Christmas, depending on your availability.
