recently my cruise control switch has completely stopped working I have come to the conclusion that it is because of the faulty spiral cable/clockspring system which is a Toyota recall. My airbag light has also been on ever since I was rear ended at about 45mph. I never had the airbag systems looked at because there's no airbag sensors in the back of the truck and no airbags went off (also not paying Toyota techs thousands for an airbag light). I guess my question is with replacing the clockspring/spiral cable, Should I go with the 200$ OEM Toyota option, or should I buy the 35$ One from rock auto which everyone has had great luck with. Any input on the airbag light would be helpful I have tried everything to get the light off since the accident, Ive tried resetting the airbag system and checking all the fuses.

Without knowing the codes there's no way to tell why the light is on, could it be the clockspring? sure but without having it scanned there's no guarantee that will fix it.

Ok so how do I scan for these types of codes. With the tradition code reader I use it only picks up engine codes?
Im not getting any other codes

You either need a scanner that can talk to the SRS (Airbag) module or you can jump the pins of the DLC as outlined in the files below to flash them out on the light.

I bought the $14.95 stem from Amazon to add cruise to my truck that came without it from the factory. The truck was wired for cruise and that was all it took to make it operational. No complaints.

Not sure what you are talking about when you say, "clockspring/spiral cable", so what I bought may not apply to your issue.
