Hey dude I just purchased some BFG AT KO with the E load range. They are 265/75/r16s.

On my old truck I had the same make and model but 265/70/r17 with the same load rating. Both were and are great tires. You really have nothing to worry about.

When you're looking at the weight of tires you can't forget to look at the weight of the wheel you're using. Its a numbers game.

I had my old BFG AT KO 265/70/r17 put on my new truck when I bought it. I will be going back to a 265/75/r16 wheel/tire setup. These two tires and pretty much the same size to each other.

These are great tires. Just inflate them at the right pressure, rotate, and balance them when you're supposed to and you'll be fine and enjoy them for a long time.

Thanks man! They will most likely be put on my OEM rims.

What psi did you run them at? Any issues offroad? Ride rough? Thanks

I don't remember. I think I just made sure there wasn't an obvious bulge of the tire on the section that was making contact on the ground.

When I was doing a little research before my purchase I also found the 265/75/16 in a D rating. These were old stock tires (last Novemeber) and 4wheelparts was selling them for a steal as they were trying to get rid of them. I price matched them at Discount Tire and got the newest E rated version. I did not want the white lettering and cannot be happier with my purchase. At 32 psi they ride better than the OEM BFG Rugged Trails and they look mean.

Also, check out a FJ TT, they run the BFG AT 265/75/16 in a D rating, maybe Toyota bought up all the old stock?

Note: although they ride nice at 32 PSI, the chalk test put them at 40 psi on my truck.
and if you are worried about rotating weight, lose some with different rims. FJ SE rims are a nice choice...

One more thing, which 265/75/16 did you get? I noticed this when I bought mine, there are two in the E rating and one actually has more tread depth. For what reason, I do not know.

I got the 16/32 tread. I wanted more tread. Is that a bad thing?

This is what the invoice says:

    4 LT265/75R16E1 123S W BFG A-Terrain TA KO RWL

It has more tread but somehow an overall smaller diameter. It also has a higher speed rating than the 123Q.

I went with the 123Q for the BSW becuase I hate the white lettering and refuse to deal with white letters on the insided of the rim either. I figure that I will never go over the 100 mph speed rating of the Q anyways.

As far as if 'more' tread is a bad thing...I dont' see how. I'm only guessing that since the 123Q is actually larger in diameter, it somehow makes up for less tread depth with a thicker ply?

I went with a 265/70/17, 6 ply, load range C, BFG AT KO. I see no reason to haul around the extra weight or put up with the stiffer 10 ply "E" range tire on such a light and nimble vehicle if you're going to keep it roughly stock. I've taken 3 sets of "C" range BFG ATs (2 sets on a V8 Dakota and one on my Tacoma) almost to hell and back and never wished for an E rated tire.

I just went from the stock rugged fails to 285 BFG ATs in E and they ride sooooo nice. I have no idea what people say when they ride rough, it's a truck isn't it?

They aren't on the truck yet. I am still trying to decide two things:

    1. If I want to stick with these tires or get new ones. (More than likely will be keeping them).

    2. If I want to wait for new rims and do it all at once.

Put em on already , I've been running E-rated tires for a year , no issues here . Slightly stiffer ride due to stiffer sidewalls , but I likey .
