2nd Gen Topper on 1st Gen

I have the opportunity to pick up a cap from a 2nd gen to put on my first gen. Unfortunately my 1st gen is on the mainland, and the cap is here on the island. I've looked around here, and haven't found much info. Any pics/insight???

 

Well keep in mind that the 1st gen bed is wider

e.g., 1st gen is 74.5" on a DC by 57.9 wide, while a 2nd Gen is DC LB 73.5 long by 56.7 wide (or DC SB is 60 long by 56.7 wide)

I've seen people run a 1st gen shell on a 2nd gen though. Doesn't fit as nice as I'd probably prefer, but maybe I'm OCD

 

2nd Gen is wider than 1st.
