2nd gen transmission pinning????

Alright... did a bunch of searching and found only 3rd gen related answers....

Can we 2nd gen tow package owners pin our transmission thermostats?

I looked under my truck and could not find anything that resembles a t stat or a location where one can manually open the tstat and pun it for cooler temps when towing.

 

I don't see anything like a thermostat in a 2nd gen.

If you need more cooling install a larger trans cooler.

I've installed a thermostat on an old '02 GMC Sierra truck. I would get very hot trans temps towing, but barely high enough temps in the winter. So I installed a larger trans cooler and a thermostat.

Yep, that part shows up clearly in the Fiche for the 3rd gen. No such thing in the 2nd gen. It's just full open
