Hello fellow TW Members, I found a killer deal on some 2nd Gen trd wheels. My thoughts were to scoop them and either have them blasted and painted professionally or do it myself. (Depending on the condition of all four) My question to you all is has anyone put them on there 3rd gens? If so do you have pictures? I would love to see them if you do. Looking to get pictures to see how they look before pulling the trigger. Thanks!

Just wondering what ended up happening?

I actually own those wheels now but have refinish them and get some TPMS sensors before they can go on the 2018 Tacoma SR.

if anyone has pics of this I’d appreciate it.

I've been running them for more than 10 years on two trucks. The finish is holding up despite all the trail rash with effectively zero maintenance. Their high offset causes rubbing on the UCA and LCA at full steering lock with my alignment setup (SPC UCA, LCA cam bolts set for max caster), but it hasn't been enough of a problem for me to change anything.

Thanks for the pics, looks great!

Unfortunately for me the finish on mine did not hold up so well and I am refinishing them. Then again for $50 what could I expect?

They’re replacing the stock 2018 SR steel wheels with a 25mm offset, so those with the 30mm offset shouldn’t be an issue on a completely stock suspension. I was planning on going with 265/70R16 tires instead of the stock 245/75R16. I am not anticipating any rubbing. Hopefully?

I ran those for two winters as I had them leftover from my 2013. They weren't bad wheels, I just have an affliction that forces me to change things up far too often. I cannot complain though as I bought them for $140 on CL and sold them for $400 4 years later.

What size tires did you run with those wheels and did you have any rubbing issues?

I ran a stock 265/70-16 on my snow tires. They the offset on those are 5mm higher than the stock 2016 TRD Off-Road alloy per this thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-specs.30754/

Per that thread it appears at least that the SR5 steel wheel and the 2G TRD Off-Road has the same offset. I've run both on my truck and had zero issue with rubbing, but my truck was lifted with the SR5 steel wheel.

But to answer the rubbing question, zero issue with stock suspension.

I am planning on doing the same w those version wheels when my tires are done. mine will have a level by that time so you are saying they do rub at full lock?

From what I can tell, the rubbing happens only with my specific setup - SPC UCA, LCA cam bolts at max caster. If you run a non-adjustable UCA (stock or aftermarket), you won't be able to set LCA cam bolts at max caster, and therefore won't have this problem.
