2nd Gen Ultimate LED Dome and Map lights

Got mine today (Red Maps), thanks for the quick shipping @mesojdm

 

Double check the contacts going into the bulb adapter. Also, try and tuck the wiring back into the hole as best you can without coiling/kinking it(I know a little hard to do while trying to snap the map light back in). This is why I suggest removing the OEM reflector bucket inside the hole, so there is more room for the added wiring.

Mesojdm, are you going to have more red map light available for purchase soon? I’d like to buy a set but it says sold out

 

I went ahead and ordered the white map lights. I am interested in getting the all white dome lights. Do you plan to do come of them too?

 

OOS on all maps and domes. I am currently working on another batch of dual color maps and white domes. PrObably early next week I will post them For sale. Then my red led boards should be in and I’ll do a run of red domes and maps.

I removed stock reflectors and installed correctly and also very carefully, just was asking if people had the same problem with the wires shorting out while install. I’m also aware of the correct way they go in (only works one way not the other)

 

Did all that and it was needful, the little wire connectors on the map light bulb adapters seem to have a mind of their own wanting to slip sideways and not make contact. Once in properly I don't see them moving though. Pretty amazing piece of work really, a little care and patiencewas all it took.

 

I had no issues with any shorting and only removed lens.....must be an RC thing or just luck...............


What's the odds of getting a 2nd gen white dome with single light panel in black?

 

I think the point of this was to be bright as hell, not just for the form factor. If someone wants dimmer lighting the best route is just to throw a plain LED bulb into the stock housing.

 

another reason im going to get the white/red combo. these are reallly bright which is good. but i feel a hairrrr too bright. nothing bad or anything i just really didnt know how bright they would be! I showed a pic to my friend and he said damn those are tooo bright for his liking.

so seeing the red/white have half the amount of white chips since rest is red may be a little
bit better/not as bright

 

Yes, I had the same issue with my left dome light as well as the dome lights sticking when turning on/off.

 

Had regular LED festoon and it sucked, oem lens dated looking so someones more than just me might want the updated looking form factor and single panel of LEDs in their domes. One preference doesn't fit all. Options are nice......and no, taping over half the LEDs isn't a worthy option. This isn't any bashing or whining about the product - it kicks ass. It's just a question about other options that might sell a bunch more of these to folks with differing preferences. Look at it as opportunity for more sales for OP.

 

Bought red maps and dome. Red maps are awesome but would love the option for white and red. Not so sure about the red dome for everyday use. Waiting patiently for the restock.

 

The guy I quoted said the map light was too bright, not the dome like you were asking about. All I’m saying is dropping the panel count to 1 for the maps isn’t going to significantly change the fact that if you stare into it, it is indeed bright as heck.

I’ll be honest, I’ve had different types of aftermarket festoons and map bulbs and some are shit and some are fantastic. As a middle ground between the dim stock lighting and the 2x48LED panels for domes and 24LED maps, they work very well.

Followed this thread late in life, waiting for red/white maps. Curious, has anyone asked meso if he plans to do a red/white overhead too?

 

OP, do you have an option for the third brake light along the lines of what you run on your truck?

I think the cabin contour is a little different on gen 2 vs gen 3... but I like what you did there

Thread is for 3rd gen but 3rd gen AC run the same brake light as 2nd gens. Currently only sent out test models for 3rd gen DC if I recall.

 

An antique oil lamp is brighter than the factory light.
